Initially, it made no impact on French cinema fans in the 1950s when first released. However, it is truly an astonishing film that you really want to think about after seeing it. "Casque d'or" is particularly remarkable with how Becker dances between romance and gripping violence. Featuring one of the greatest knife-fight scenes ever put on film. What a love story to boot.)
