1 1/2 MILLION March in LA en La Gran Marcha

Police Claim only 500,000

1 1/2 MILLION March ...

The initial estimates from mainstream media indicated that between 1 and 2 milion people marched for migrant's lives and rights in Los Angeles Saturday, and organizers of La Gran Marcha put the figure at 1.5 million.

Police then countered these figures with a lowball estimate of only half a million. This then was picked up and parroted by the mainstream press. Police, of course, as representativesof the State, always consciously underestimate crowd size.

Let's look at some fotos and make some comparisons.

Here's one image of the Chicago march for migrants two weeks ago. Police called this 100,000 people. Organizers said it was 300,000 or more.

Million Women March

Million Women March...

In the Spring of 2004 1.15 million women marched in Washington DC for reproductive rights. Again, compare with your own eyes.

The results may be inconclusive, but there is no reason whatsoever to trust the police figures for La Gran Marcha, while clearly event organizers endeavored to be modest in their assessment of crowd size
