YESSI clothing, a business in the L.A. Fashion District, fired a worker for calling in sick last Saturday. They are guilty of innumerable labor violations: not giving appropriate breaks and lunches, denying maternity leave to a pregnant woman, paying workers in cash to avoid tax laws. We are demanding reinstatement of the worker, Laura, and improvement of work conditions. This will be a prelude to broader organizing in the Fashion District, where workers are abused every day.
