RACISM AT ELI LILLY

by Red Letter United Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at 11:17 AM
clywelch@msn.com

Discrimination is a hellhound that gnaws at Negroes in every waking moment of their lives to remind them that the lie of their inferiority is accepted as truth in the society dominating them. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Have you experienced discrimination at Eli Lilly?

We are a group of present and former African American employees of the Eli
Lilly Company. We believe that the company does not give African
Americans equal pay for equal work and does not give its African American
employees the same opportunities for advancement that others enjoy.
Further, the company seems to have a pattern of retaliatino against those
who complain of discrimination too loudly. We have retained a law firm to
seek legal relief. If you think you might be part of this group and are
interested in discussing your situation in confidence with our lawyer,

Is the poster a Scientology agent?

by Fredric L. Rice Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at 11:49 AM
frice@skeptictank.org

It would probably be a mistake to contact this person in the event he or she is actually the notorious Scientology corporation.

Scientology has a lengthy -- though amusing, at times -- history of profoundly insane flying saucer notions about the Eli Lilly company, all of which is covered on critical web sites that look into the Scientology comapny's notion that the mental health industry and pharmacy companies are collaborationists with what they call the "Marcabian invasion fleet" from outer space.

I shit you not. Do a Google on "scientology xenu marcabs" and you'll learn all about the flying saucer delusions that drive's Scientology's bizarre notions about the mental health industry and companies like Eli Lilly.

If this individual soliciting input for alleged racism is legitimate, I'm sure he or she would be willing to give their real names, addresses, and other information that would prove they're not Scientology agents.

It always pays to be sure.

My opinions only and only my opinions.

The Truth

by Black Lilly Employee Thursday, May. 11, 2006 at 1:05 PM

Imagine living in a time when blacks are viewed as ignorant, lazy, and useless. Or a time when a cashier would put your change on the counter instead of your hand. Or a time when a black walks in an upscale store, they are followed around by the salesperson and every time they touch something the salesperson sneers and states the price. Or what about going to a restaurant and you tell the server you want extra this or add that to your order and they look down there nose at you and say,"its gonna cost extra, do you still want it?". And lets not forget the DWB (driving while black),driving and suddenly pulled over for no explained reason. Sounds like Rosa Parks era? No, welcome to my 21st century living while black in America. This is life as a black person in our America, the America that was built on the backs of Black Americans.

The path to equality will take a group effort. AND a willingness to learn about those who are different than you and accepting that difference is not a bad thing, but a cultural base for that group of people.
Our goal at Lilly is to have equal treatment amongst all Employees regardless of color, and with education and the commitment to understand each others differences, it can and will happen hopefully someday soon. The African American Class is one tool that has the power to begin to make those changes happen.

It saddens me to see the mistreatment of people regardless of their skin color. But it is our job, excuse me, it is our right as citizens to make the corporate management at Eli Lilly do their jobs, and if they can't do that, then we need to get rid of them. By allowing the racial discrimination to continue to stay these positions and not acknowledge these practices, they will continue to neglect these civil rights and equal opportunities that they should be committed to do.

Today is a good day for you to make the contact; make a difference
