NYC Transit Strike Over - The Struggle for a Just Contract Continues
with
Arthur Schwartz, Counsel, Transport Workers Union Local 100
Arthur Cheliotos, President, Communcations Workers Local 1180
William Johnson, Co-Editor, Labor Notes

After 3 days of strike, the TWU Local 100 Executive Board voted on the request of NYS mediators to end the transit NYC strike. Yet, settlement of the contract is
still to be accomplished. While the struggle continues, we explore the legal issues of the strike, the racial divide in public support for the demands of the union, questions around organized strike support by unions and community groups, and and how this fight against givebacks fits into trends both in New York and around the country.
