South Central Farmers - Protest at Horowitz Office

by A Sunday, Dec. 04, 2005 at 12:14 AM

About 50 people picketed outside the offices of developer, Ralph Horowitz today to call attention to his plans to evict the South Central Farmers from the land they have been farming since 1994.

Representatives from the group tried to meet with Horowitz but were told that he was not in the office. A large number of local activist groups were represented, including but not limited to: The International Action Center, Code Pink, The Green Party, The Progressive Alliance, The Peace and Freedom Party as well as a number of local @ affinity groups from throughout the LA area. I spoke with a member of one local group that came out in support of the farmers. Uploaded here is an mp3 audio file. This event was the first of a series of planned protests to be held outside the Horowitz offices.
