11/5-11/8 Get Out the Vote Weekend, No on 73-78; Yes on 79&80

by + Saturday, Nov. 05, 2005 at 3:28 AM

Your help is needed this weekend through election day, November 5 through 8, 2005, to defeat the fascist attack on our state by Nazi Schwarzenegger with his $70 million special election. Voter turnout is crucial to defeating this thug's anti-labor program, Props 73 through 78. Everything from precinct walking to phone banking to putting labels on doorhangers is needed now to push the opponents of Props 73 through 78 to the polls and to urge the absentee voters to complete their ballots and mail them immediately.

Some 12.5 million people voted in November 2004, a high voter turnout presidential general election. We need to come as close as possible to that kind of turnout to defeat Props 73 through 78, and pass 79 and 80. We have identified thousands of opponents of Props 73 through 78 in the past weeks and during this GOTV weekend, we must remind them constantly to vote, until they tell us they have voted or until 7:45 p.m., November 8.

In many areas, YOU CAN VOTE THIS WEEKEND at your County Registrar's Office. You will be completing an absentee ballot before election day. THE SOONER YOU VOTE, THE BETTER.

Your polling place is on the back of the County booklet you received. If you have lost it and intend to vote on election day, you can find your polling place at

The (Labor) Alliance for A Better California is running the campaign to defeat Props 73 through 78 and pass 79 and 80. There are 25 million people in Southern California, making Southern California decisive in this and all statewide elections.

Below is the listing of all Los Angeles and Southern Califorina campaign offices. Please find AT LEAST ONE HOUR of time during this four-day period, 11/5-11/8, to make sure all opponents of Props 73 through 78 vote. The polls look good but the only poll that counts is the one where we cast our ballot, either by mail or in person. IF YOU HAVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT, COMPLETE IT TODAY AND MAIL IT TODAY. Do not delay.
