Life is full of topics that are difficult to breach, but there are some issues that are so problematic that we pretend they do not exist rather than confront them. This occurs so often that an expression has evolved to describe such a topic: the elephant in the room. Taking their cue from this phrase, eight USC art students publicly take on their own “elephant” in an attempt to finally generate discussion.

THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

A Group Photography Exhibit at the University of Southern California

Eight artists will be participating in a group show that will run from 14 - 23 of November. The exhibit is called The Elephant in the Room, as the works are aimed at generating discussion about difficult and often overlooked topics. The exhibit will contain video works as well as photographs. The opening will be Tuesday, 15 November, and the following day there will be an open discussion and critique featuring practicing LA artist, Walead Beshty. All are encouraged to attend both the opening and the discussion. Refreshments will be provided at the opening.
