Los Angeles Free Press - like the peace sign - is back
by popular demand! Art Kunkin, the founding publisher
and editor of the FIRST major city anti-war,
counter-culture news-weekly, is back at the helm. The
preview issue features provocative articles about
Iraq, New Orleans, and includes an exclusive interview
with St Patricks Four anti-war protesters facing
prison time, contributions from former Attorney
General Ramsey Clark ('Impeach Bush!'), Molly Ivins,
Noam Chomsky, plus a look back at the Freep headlines
of forty years ago (WATTS: THE NEGROES HAVE VOTED!),
especially timely in the context of Katrina and its
aftermath.

Testimonials include those from Rodney Bingenheimer,
the Mayor of the Sunset Strip, who remembers "kids
selling the Freep" as "the Bible of the Sunset Strip."

The classic 1968 Paul Mazursky comedy about the
hippie scene in L.A. featured a long-haired, bearded
and beaded Peter Sellers "finding himself" and selling
the Freep to passing cars on the Sunset Strip, after
shedding his "straight" lawyers' wardrobe.

Join Art Kunkin as he distributes the new Freep in
front of the "green spacecraft" of Mutato Musika,
owned and operated by DEVO! Just across the street
from Tower Records on the Strip!!
