The World of Women, Art World

Los Angeles, CA (Immediate Release) –There are rare moments when the intricate world of women is clearly seen, understood and appreciated. The upcoming exhibition at the Solaris Gallery is one of those rare opportunities to view the world of women through the creations of three talented female artists.

The “World of Women” exhibition was specifically created by curator Danielle Sheng to showcase three widely exhibited female artists who all create abstract works by using color liberally in an organic process. All of their works convey an emotion to evoke a response and suggest similar topics such as science, anatomy, love and the human psyche. But, despite their similarities, the final creations look very different as each woman represents the way she views the world according to her experiences and through her artistic talents. The differences and similarities create both an intriguing synergy and tension that mirrors the complexity and diversity existing in the world of women. The “World of Women” exhibition is the first time the works of Lynda Pasztor, Tara Massarsky and Sophia Louisa Lee have been brought together.

The show’s strength comes from the trio’s combined 50 years of artistic experience. Longtime Southern California resident Lynda Pasztor has spent the last 25 years working with a variety of different media, exhibiting widely, teaching and participating in 5 different art associations. Lynda’s works expertly express the multiple layers of life and the human psyche through textural layering.

Tara Massarsky who lives and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been exhibiting in New York, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque galleries and museums for close to 20 years and has sold pictures to private collectors throughout the country. Her art revolves around themes of organic structure and interconnectedness spread across her work in a way that allows the viewer to participate in an unfolding process.

Another Southern California resident Sophia Louisa Lee is relatively new to the art world but is nonetheless a very active artist who exhibited at over 20 galleries and shows in 2004. Sophia’s expressionistic works depict perpetual motion with a sense of free flowing movement. As she paints, she trusts her instincts to channel her imagination onto canvas.

“The World of Women” is an all-female exhibition by artists Lynda Pasztor, Tara Massarsky and Sophia Louisa Lee on display at the Solaris Gallery at 9013 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069 from August 11-27, 2005. There will be an opening reception for the artists on Thursday, August 11th from 6:00-9:00p.m at the Solaris Gallery.
