Exciting things are happening in Downtown Los Angeles; cultural attractions are flourishing, businesses are thriving, and people are flocking to experience everything that makes it unique. To add to Downtown’s allure, the Central City Association (CCA) and the Downtown Center Business Improvement (DCBID) are inviting local artists to submit their artwork for display in their office lobby located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.
The program gives artists the opportunity not only to gain exposure but also share their talents with the community in which they live, thrive, and draw inspiration.
“Artists who have their works on display in our lobby will have tremendous exposure to the public, including many of the leaders in the Downtown community, as well as elected officials. Some of whom may be interested in purchasing what they see,” says Carol Schatz, President and CEO of CCA and the DCBID. “We are encouraging artists of all ages and backgrounds to participate in this valuable program, as long as they live or work in Downtown L.A.”
Artists who wish to participate in the program should submit a photo or CD of their work to Hal Bastian at the DCBID/CCA office at 626 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90017 by August 26, 2005. All artwork selected will be displayed on a rotating basis three to four months long.
For a while, downtown LA was ignored by people, and was a way-station up from homelessness.
