The people at Save Our State have been busy. Now that they have joined forces with the National Vanguard, they are meeting with members of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable to join with them as well.
On Saturday, August 20, 2005, Joe Turner will speak at the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable with the intention to exploit the racial tensions between African Americans and Latinos and try to gain the allegiance for his race war. Now that he has met with and gained the support of the radical racist group of the National Vanguard, he is trying to find people within the African American community to increase his numbers and demonstrate that racists from groups that normally oppose each other can work together against a common enemy, Latinos. “Furthermore, assuming that our organization is able to partner with the black community on this issue, I believe it will send shockwaves through out the political structures at the state and federal level.” (SOS Website) Really, this is a play from the days of Hitler, where he was able to unite many different Aryan people in the common goals of exterminating the Jewish Populations. It is very doubtful that the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable knows about the affiliations that Joe Turner has forged with the National Vanguard. If you wish to write to, or call Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable and tell them what you think about this meeting, you can reach them at: General Inquiries and Membership Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable 614 East Manchester Blvd., Suite 214 Inglewood, CA 90301 Phone 310 672-2542 hutchinsonreport@aol.com It is a wise idea to ask them to contact the city leadership of Baldwin Park to research their guests a little better.

It is NOT the intention of this article to state that Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable is a racist organization. It is merely SOS's intention to exploit the racial tensions between the African American community and the Latino population. Therefore, it is racists that SOS intends to recruit. The Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable has met with the Mayor of Los Angeles (a person the SOS works against do to his race and political views), and the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable has tried to work to ease the racial tensions that exist. Therefore, meeting with SOS works against Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable's goals.

SOS might get a friendlier reception that you might expect:
excerpted from THE HUTCHINSON REPORT: LA’s Politicians Dance Around Black-Latino Clash, June 28, 2005
" The black unemployment rate is double that of whites, and higher than that of Latinos in L.A. County. Among young black males, unemployment, has reached near Great Depression levels in the city and the county. Jobs, or rather the scarcity of them, are a major crisis issue for blacks. This pricks a sore racial nerve among blacks, and rightly so. High joblessness exacerbates the crime and drug crisis in South L.A., and fuels school violence. It further marginalizes the black poor and young. Many blacks unabashedly blame their jobless plight on illegal immigration. This is not totally fair. The lack of job skills, training and education programs, and the high incarceration rate of black males, that render them virtually unemployable, are the major causes of chronic high black unemployment. Yet it’s still true that immigration has bumped blacks out of unskilled and low skilled jobs, and that's just enough to fuel passions and anger.
"The solution to racial peace in L.A.’s schools and on the streets are diversity in City Hall, mandatory cultural sensitivity programs for teachers, students, and parents, school safe zones, tougher school discipline, a crash job and skills training program for young blacks, a full attack on job discrimination, tighter immigration controls, and swift punishment of police misconduct. What city or county official will boldly commit to that?"

And SOS has high expectations of Turner's appearance with Hutchinson. The comments below from the SOS forum clearly read like an alliance has already formed, and Hutchinson hasn't made any public statements otherwise, that I know of.
Based on Hutchinson's own statements and what I read from SOS, I wouldn't be surprised to find that Hutchinson was just waiting for the meeting to formalize the union and use the issue to take on his nemesis, Jesse Jackson (who, I don't imagine, thinks of Hutchinson as his rival).
The implications of this, in light of the existing tensions in LA, are terrifying. The LA Times has already speculated (or planted the seed?) that the Black-Brown high school fighting could spill into to another Watts summer. If Hutchinson chooses to ally his part of the Black community with white racists over Chicano culture, global warming may not be the only unnatural heat LA suffers in August.
From Turner:
"Recently, Najee Ali of Islamic H.O.P.E expressed interest in working with Save Our State on the illegal immigration issue. I spoke with Mr. Ali this weekend and he subsequently put me in touch with Earl Hutchinson who is active in Los Angeles and who hosts the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable....
"He explained to me that he has received tremendous feedback from residents who are angry with illegal immigration and suggested that we will be warmly received by many in the community and at the roundtable.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for Save Our State and the entire anti-illegal immigration movement. To my knowledge, we will be the first such organization to ever step foot in the South Central/South Los Angeles area. I am very thankful for this opportunity and believe that with respect to illegal immigration that we will find common ground.
"With respect to activism, Save Our State stands to learn a great deal from the black community and I believe the black community stands to learn a great deal from Save Our State.
"I sincerely believe that when the history books are written, that this Roundtable will serve as a watershed event with respect to our movement. Furthermore, assuming that our organization is able to partner with the black community on this issue, I believe it will send shockwaves through out the political structures at the state and federal level...shockwaves that will reverberate with debilitating impact upon our opposition in the open borders lobby.
"More than any other protest or rally, I call upon each and everyone of you to support Save Our State and myself on August 20th. Your attendance will further communicate and reinforce our statements expressing a desire to work with the black community. Although we have members of all races/colors, the bulk of our membership (like just about every other anti-illegal immigration organization) is white. The presence of many whites from Save Our State who live outside their community would send a resounding message and result in an unquantifiably positive impact on this movement and our organization.
From "lance sjoren":
"That op-ed piece by Hutchinson is extremely encouraging...
"This looks to me like yet another sign that black people are finally beginning to speak up and get involved on illegal immigration.
"It appears that the open borders leftist oligarchy that runs local politics in Southern California is beginning to show some cracks."
"I think, in many respects, the haze is starting to lift for the black community as they are starting to realize (and it is a rather depressing and bitter revelation) that the people who claim to lead and represent the black community are in many ways selling out their "constituency" in the name of maintaining and expanding their own personal power.
"I honestly believe that this issue will be the straw that breaks the camels back with respect to the black community attaining idealogical independence..."
from "Madame Butterfly" (Turner's wife):
"I am so excited for this event. I think that the potential from this alliance of communities is great. I am looking forward to the people and enthusiasm that I think the black community has for this cause. I am looking forward to lessons that can be learned from one another. I am eager to hear how illegal immigration affects them and their communities specifically and if it is the same or different than my experience. While I can theorize and speculate about the effects, their stories and experiences will help illustrate how illegal immigration affects all AMERICANS, not just a handful of "whites" as the media would have the public believe.
"We need our voices to be heard as individuals but we also need our voices to be heard as an anti-illegal immigration caucus/voting block.
"If this bond is facilitated and grown over the coming months and years, our voices will become stronger and our potential for concrete action on this matter increase exponentially."
"I will be there on the 20th and I encourage everyone else to do the same.
"I agree that this event could singularly propel this movement into a different strata. The pillars of the central Los Angeles black community and the anti-illegal immigration leaders from Southern California directing a mandate for action backed by scores of active Americans is nothing short of revolutionary. And you all are a part of it."
"Call me an optimist but I am so exicted for this event I can barely sit still."
from "Tim Binh":
"Some ancient history to think about.
"No offense intended to the American Indians on this board, but after the Civil War, black Americans joined the Army and were more than willing to 'relocate' American Indians in order to have a better life for themselves. Back then they were called "Buffalo Soldiers".
"I am sure today there are more than a few black Americans that feel the same way about Mexican Indians."
from "Raymond":
"I'm not sure if this means that the Indymedia radicals are coming to the meeting or not. The forums are basically full of reposts of half the stuff posted here. Just consider this a heads up, but I have to say their presence would probably piss off the black community leaders - it's a lose/lose proposition for them, and a win/win for us."
"To clarify - a lose/lose proposition for the indymedia losers. Don't show up and don't have a voice, or show up and visibly reinforce the message that the African-American community cannot even have a forum without Hispanic activists trying to take over. "
from "Old Preach":
"[Indymedia regular types] know that the Brothas will not react to you the same way SOS does. Go ahead and try to crash the meeting ! They will be ready with more than 'baseball bats' !"
from "Advocate":
"Most white pople have a sense of good will and decency toward black people and wish them well. The Mexicans don't. Just look at the postage stamps they're using down there.
. . . Olfari Hutchinson is more stately and operates on a higher level. The important thing is that these so called "black leaders" seem finally to be hearing the cries of their people. Hutchinson and Najee are skilled political opporunists. They've had their finger in the wind and they know which way it is blowing. It's blowing our way. That's why they're calling us."
"Well now their leaders are reaching out to us. Thank God. Blacks seem to be so dependent on leaders to think for them and tell them what to do. Now maybe at least some of their "leaders" will steer them on the right course for a change."
from "Drumsme7":
"I see it like this, this is an inroad to a demographic that's being hit hard by the invasion. Who cares who the messenger is? If blacks watch the show & it opens some eyes, I say that's great. At this point in time we can't pick & choose who brings forth the issue, but it's of vital importance that the issue is out there. Having the black community as an ally will not only bring us greater numbers but may finally put to rest the "racist" tag we've been burdened with."
