An illegal war memorial was taken down over
Memorial Day weekend by citizens opposed
to the wars, and exercising their first amendment
rights against compelled speech. Although
the erection of the memorial on public property
is legally vandalism, the local police considered
its removal as theft. See

What's wrong with the memorial? It was just markers for the dead soldiers. I don't think that's necessarily pro-war or anti-war. I'm anti-war, but don't feel that the memorial is pro-war.
A pro-war memorial would have a lot of other stuff there justifying or valorizing their deaths.
An anti-war memorial would have more gruesome photos of the dead people.
The administration has, for a long time, been hiding the fact that people are dying. Silence is pro-war.
