PDF FLYER: NEW VERSION:
http://la.indymedia.org/uploads/bp2.pdfbnnr1e.pdf
I just received this poster from an anonymous source, and I thought people may be interested in seeing it. It is likely that people will get a hold of this poster, and take in amongst themselves to copy it and distribute it throughout Baldwin Park, Los Angeles, Orange County, and other parts of the Southern California Area.
To date, there are no Spanish translations on the internet, but it is expected that someone will translate this so the author can present another flyer.

An IRC Channel has been set up on DALnet, instead of Yahoo Messenger chat. Here's the "how-to" to get you up and running on IRC. It is my intention to provide a place that is a bit more secure than Messenger, for recruitment and planning.
If you already have an IRC client, just log into a DALNET server and join #SaveOurState. This is the main channel, and there will be others created on an invite only basis....for direct planning and conference reasons.
Here's a free client. It's called Visual IRC and can be found at the VIRC homepage at http://www.visualirc.net/download.php
Download and install, then run the program. There will be an icon placed on your desktop. Double click the icon and fire up VIRC.
Once you get inside the program, look for the CONFIGURATION button. It's the one with the tools over a box. Click it to open the Config window.
Under Initial Setup:
Remove the two user names vircuser and the other. Add your user name, and an alternate to the Default Nicks section.
Under IDENT: Blank or something non identifying
Under REAL NAME: Blank or something non identifying
Default server: use the "..." button just to the right of the field for default server, pick a DALNET server closest to you. Look for one with CA in the name if you're in California, etc.
You should be ready to connect now. There are a lot of other options to tweak so files can be sent between people, etc, but the initial set up is done. Check the tickbox at the bottom of the configuration screen, the one that says "save to ini", this will save your changes to the program.
Connect to the internet, and click on the "start" button at the top left of the VIRC program. A server window will pop up.
Click on the connect button at the top left of the server window, you are now on the IRC network.
to join the Saveourstate channel, type the following in the command line for the VIRC program.
/join #saveourstate
That's it, you're in. Now uninstall that damned Yahoo messenger before someone uses it to plant a trojan horse on your system. See you on IRC.
Send me a PM if you're interested in being an operator for the IRC Channel. It's slow now, but I'm sure the goofballs will be following us over there shortly.

We need a common poster to explain this. I don't want to log on until I know that they will not get my ip and then my address and send the militia to come 'take care of me'. I am not knowledgeable to this.

Yes, I will be very careful before log in. It is likely a TRAP. DON"T DO IT.

They must think we are idiots. Posting a "private" chat area where anyone can access it?
Would not mind sneaking in though to see what they are up to.

Is there going to be any effort to print these out and distribute them? I live 8 miles away and am on a bicycle so it would be somewhat difficult for me to do.
I have a good printer I dug out of the trash some months ago that I could print like 500 of these, but I can't go door-to-door distributing them.
Is there a group I could contact that would accept 500 of these flyers and then distribut them a week in advance?
Contact me by email at sdunbar42@linkline.comREMOVE and I'll get them to the group.

This is a kind of grass roots operation. If you print these up, I am sure there are local organizations that would hand them out (call or email the UCLA MECHa and ask who to contact). I know for the Garden Grove one, one guy printed a stack and dropped them off at coffee shops and book stores. You could also try to organize with a couple people you live by, and have them post them up. I don't know about going door to door, but telephone poles and places like that are real visible.

http://www.baldwinpark.com/ Read the history of the city and the current make up of the city council. There is a small chance that unlike GGPD, the BPPD could be given different directives. Those opposing MM & SOS may want to consider dialog with the city of BP before hand. GG went bad partly due to no recon of the terrain. Know the terrain. Know your enemy. Know their motives. Know their weakness. And then you win. Suggested reading: Sun Tzu

Google Warrior,
Could you please give a little more insight. I can tell you that many of the City Council members are already on the pro-monument side. There are certain people who are working with them. That aside, if you have any more tips, please either post them, or email them to Duane (GG) with a note to forward them to people he feels could use them. He doesn't work in the la area, but he knows a couple (very few) people that do, and they know where to send them. I would give you an email, but I am sure you know that a lot of people from SOS is trying to find out who people are.
