FREE POLITICAL PRISONERS! CALL FOR SOLIDARITY AT ARRAIGNMENTS! Please help a) get in touch w/ ALL the other arrestees / or their families from last night Garden Grove and b) we have a general CALL OUT FOR HELP WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR LEGAL FEES AND/OR LEGAL AID. More details below.

We have heard from our friend who was arrested last night. He is very shaken, and still no details on the extent of his physical injuries. His arraignment will be tomorrow morning (Friday) in Santa Ana. If interested in attending, please email for more details.

We are working to find legal representation, but I am very concerned about only checking the status of my friend wtihout knowing everybody's details: Are there arrestees with SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL HARDSHIP?? When are their arraignments??

This is an excellent opportunity for people to really come together, even more than we have already. There are as many as 7 people who were arrested and now have SERIOUS financial cases to deal with. All of these people should be considered equally by our "activist" communities.

WHILE OUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES **REMAIN** IN JAIL / CUSTODY, THIS MORNING THE KKK, I MEAN THE POLICE, RELEASED THE MAN WHO RAN OVER 2 PROTESTORS LAST NIGHT AND ***DROP HIS CHARGES OF ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON**WHILE LETTING THESE OTEHR "WATER BOTTLE=DEADLY WEAPON" CHARGES REMAIN.

Why don't we call for everyone that was there to meet at a given time, collect our resources together, and every person with a case individually file a suit against each individual officer there, as well as the police department in general. When they pushed through the crowd with their horses and batons for no reason, they hit at least a few dozen of us. I for one have incredible back and neck pains today and may need to see a doctor. I am sure I am not the only one. I will start working on officer Ids from my video and stills. It would be nice if others could do the same. We need to play by there rules, and even if some of us lose, we need to demonstrate that the people will not take this lying down. When the department has to fork over the tens of thousands of dollars as they begin to lose, they will have to answer to the taxpayers. If anyone has a grievance against the officer that was harassing us last night and wrote the ticket for putting a cigarette out in the gutter, (Officer Lawton; badge number 4882), let me know, I will personally work with you on that one (doesn't need to be from last night).

One of the guys hit was Jim Lafferty of the NLG.

I just heard him on KPFK talking about this.

This whole situation sounds fishy. The guy who drives into the crowd is let go, while activists, many who seemed to be targeted for arrest, rot in jail.

Then the fellow from the PD talks to the press, but with a story that doesn't quite mesh with eyewitness accounts from IMC, but also doesn't mesh with accounts on SOS (the opposition site), both of which seem to corroborate each other.
