non violent counter-demonstration this Saturday in Baldwin Park of Pro-Minutemen protesting DAY LABOR CENTER.
no_human_illegala.jpg, image/gif, 236x291
There is a racist demonstration by armed vigilantes against the Hispanic people of the world on May 14, 2005. These nationalists state, "Californians are tired of radical revisionist history and militant separatist rhetoric calling for the return of the Southwestern United States to Mexico as proclaimed by radical organizations like Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA). SaveOurState.org proudly stands in opposition to this propaganda." A call to action for a counter protest is now in circulation. The Minute Men are planning a protest at a Hispanic monument at noon on the 14th of May. The reason for their protest is to "demand that the city of Baldwin Park immediately remove seditious anti-American language (pictures below) from the “Danzas Indigenas” monument located at the Baldwin Park Commuter Rail Station." This is clearly a racist protest, and national news (like CNN and FOX News) will likely be there. There are no official counter plans, but emails are circulating asking people to show up with signs like, "No Human Is Illegal" and "EUROPEAN Immigrants, GO HOME!" as well as black flags, drums, and noise makers. This is an important opportunity to make a statement about justice and equality. Here is their website: http://www.saveourstate.org/ Location: Intersection of Pacific and Downing near monument and rail station Parking is Provided (by the Minute Men): 3699 N. Holly Street

The poster at the top of the page, "Ningun Ser Human Es Ilegal", is by artist Mark Vallen. On his blog he's posted a defense of fellow artist Judy Baca... who designed the public art the right wingers are attacking in Baldwin Park. Read Vallen's blog post, "California Public Art Under Attack", and send his article to others. You can read it at: www.art-for-a-change.com/blog/2005/05/california-public-art-under-attack.html

Immigrant Bashers are Dupes of The Devil (Bush). While they are Duped into Bashing Immigrants by the Devil's Right Hand (Ahnold), the CEO's continue to Ship their Jobs Overseas Wholesale and Exploit Slave Labor. Classic Misdirection Tactics done by the Devil's Right Hand Ahnold the Bushite. The so called Illegal Immigrants could not possibly take these jobs because the so called Illegal Immigrants are in America and not China (A Communist Country), Vietnam (A Communist Country While Ahnold and Bush pretend to be Patriotic Anticommunist they Are Doing Business Wholesale), Singapore, Pakistan, India, Brazil, and of course Mexico (Where the so called Illegal Immigrants are not found either. So, what was your point again?
That Mexicans illegally crossing our borders and illegally taking jobs are not illegal at all?
Um, no. That's incorrect.
Or is your point that many corporations are moving jobs overseas is somehow bad for both the United States and the people employed by these corporations?
Um, no. Wrong again.
So, what was your point anyway?

ANSWER and IAC both called for a counter demo in Baldwin park.

Normally, I am very critical about ANSWER, but not today. My hat goes off to them today for a job well done. They were able to mobilize a mass quickly, obtain a permit, and get people there. Then, when the people realized that the 'permitted spot' was so far away from the racists, it was irrelevant, ANSWER volunteers came with the people to confront the racists. Further, ANSWER volunteers worked with law enforcement (nothing new there) to ensure that people were not going to get attacked or arrested. Though there was some thoughts to asking people to leave and letting the outnumbered racists have their day of victory, the people demanded to stay until the racists left, and ANSWER stayed with them. Though, ANSWER would not have stopped the protest (this was a real protest, and not the mass parades we are use to seeing ANSWER organize), there is no doubt to me that things would have likely escalated out of control without them. So, as I said above, my hats off to today's ANSWER volunteers, I really appreciated your support for the people and for justice. We out numbered the racists by (at least) 20 to 1, and let them know that their arrogance would not be tolerated. I doubt we will see them come back. If they do, I am sure the people will re-organize and confront them again. This was a great day for Mexican immigrant justice.

There was no "official" counter demo. People and small groups were organizing independently to make this happen.
That's why there was some diversity of politics, and so many people mobilized on such short notice. You had residents, liberals, anti-racists, Mexican nationalists, anti-nationalist anarchists, various left groups, pacifists, and others all involved.
When people see a vacuum in "leadership", they take on leadership roles. When people see "leadership" they disagree with, they sometimes give up, and say "screw it."
Diversity is strength.

It's apparent this sick puppy is riddled with more than ample hatred and racism...he, no doubt, stood with the other 25 or 30 SPs in Baldwin Park Saturday surrounded by folks pissed off and amazed that these wannabe "minutemen" actually drove into a community comprised of 80% Hispanics and told them to go home....ohh, duhhh! stupid or brave?, stupid gets my vote...they had to leave by police escort, taking their Nazi-racist attitudes with them...hmmm, just when ya think we're making progress in our choice here in California for diversity, the goons slip back in under the floorboards and contaminate the environs...Europeans need only to look at their own violent, expansionist history to see that angels are in heaven only, and that the shit streaming from their mouths is more foul than that coming from their butts. Peace.

Which sick puppy are you referring to? Moi? I assure you I was nowhere near Baldwin Park last, or on any other Saturday.
I am, however, intrigued by the argument.
On one hand you have the artist and members of a community that is preponderantly Latino. They feel that they have the right to express themselves, and apparently, they believe that part of that right includes the inscription of these words on the Monument:
“This land was Mexican once, was Indian always- and is, And will be again.”
On the other hand you have the members of Save Our State, who view the inscription as seditious, and perhaps treasonous.
Now, the residents of a particular area have every right to express themselves, but it is instructive to look at the wording of the inscription. The implication of the wording is that the land previously belonged to other groups, is in the current possession of the United States, and will be returned to the sovereignty of one or the other former groups. Thus, the artist is expressing a desire for the regime currently controlling the land to be dispossessed. The advocation of the dismemberment of a country, including the removal of lawful authority is a textbook definition of sedition.
More interesting, troubling, and indeed telling, are the arguments made in favor of this inscription. Writers on this post have pointed to the fact that Baldwin Park is 80% Latino, and that this preponderance justifies the presence of the Monument. If a city of 80% Latinos should be allowed to erect a Monument which advocates sedition, then what about a city with 80% Blacks? Or 80% Whites? What if a city that was 80% White advocated that we strictly enforce our laws on immigration? Would the progressives support such a community when faced with the inevitable protests from immigrant rights groups? Would they help shout down the ‘outsiders’ and attempt to chase them off? Somehow I doubt it. And what’s with the ‘progressive’ movement suddenly supporting ‘majority rules’? Didn’t a majority of Californians support Proposition 187? Would the ‘progressive’ movement support its long-delayed implementation?
Another interesting point is LA Vigilmonger’s contention that the S.O.S. protesters had to leave Baldwin Park under police escort. Why? Were they threatened? Is LA Vigilmonger unaware that to threaten someone with physical violence is also a violation of State and Federal law?
Ultimately, this is a country of laws. The residents of Baldwin Park, regardless of their racial composition, are subject to the laws of the State of California and the United States. No matter what their views on historical events or their earnest yearning for a different tomorrow, they exist in the present day, and the wording on the Monument therein is clearly seditious. To suggest otherwise is to be dishonest. The Monument should be altered or removed.

You need to look at Fred Rice's page, linked from another thread, and see the other words on the monument.
That monument is about as "Mexican" as a Mexican restaurant. Holy hell, you see "Viva Zapata!" at some Mexican restaurants, and all you get on this monument is some vague idea that the land will be indigenous again, sometime, in the future. Also, there's the point that it is indigenous still. I guess it is.
Truly seditious language would be clearer about it's goals: "we must gain independence from the government that oppresses us." The Declaration of Independence was seditious. Danzas Indigenas is not.
"If a city of 80% Latinos should be allowed to erect a Monument which advocates sedition, then what about a city with 80% Blacks? Or 80% Whites?"
Yes, they should have the freedom to put up monuments that don't offend most people. There are monuments in the South of Confederacy soldiers, and I'm sure some African American cities have plaques to Marcus Garvey. Notably, the only openly seditious "race" here is the white people of the South.
"Another interesting point is LA Vigilmonger’s contention that the S.O.S. protesters had to leave Baldwin Park under police escort. Why? Were they threatened?"
When any group is outnumbered 10 to 1, they should have an escort. There is obvioulsy an implied threat of attack. Also, they left the demo, not the city, under escort. I'm sure they drove out like everyone else. For all we know, they may have stuck around to eat dinner.
In conclusion, the language on the monument is not seditious. You need to look at the artwork as a whole.

i saw it. Sorry. The seditious racism cancels out the meaningless “message of hope” no doubt designed to arouse the rabble.

Those restaurants are private property (your favorite). The ugly arch is not.

Rubbish. The Declaration had balls. And it was written without a grant from England.
"If a city of 80% Latinos should be allowed to erect a Monument which advocates sedition, then what about a city with 80% Blacks? Or 80% Whites?"
They would not. And you know as well as I do that a theoretical public monument that read, “It was better before the Mexican illegal invasion” wouldn’t last the night. (By the way, it WAS better).
Yes, they should have the freedom to put up monuments that don't offend most people. There are monuments in the South of Confederacy soldiers, and I'm sure some African American cities have plaques to Marcus Garvey. Notably, the only openly seditious "race" here is the white people of the South.
Poor comparisons. There is no public monument in the South that reads, “The Confederacy will return!” The attempts to hide the Stars and Bars down the memory hole is more liberal nonsense. Leftards are self-made victims in search of an oppressor to blame.
"Another interesting point is LA Vigilmonger’s contention that the S.O.S. protesters had to leave Baldwin Park under police escort. Why? Were they threatened?"
An old woman who supports SOS ended up in the ICU after being hit with a bottle thrown by one of the BRAVE Mexican warriors. The police also said they couldn’t gurarantee the safety of the SOS members, and there were only SEVENTY of them in full riot gear.
When any group is outnumbered 10 to 1, they should have an escort. There is obvioulsy an implied threat of attack. Also, they left the demo, not the city, under escort. I'm sure they drove out like everyone else. For all we know, they may have stuck around to eat dinner.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, because it sure looks and smells like seditious bullshit. Unlike the deluded at IMC, the idiot “artist” as much admitted her ‘aztlan’ intentions on HER website.
Tear it down.

Hey look everybody! KPC is back with another hard-hitting thought provoking post sure to have us pondering it's deeper meaning for some time. How this man doesn't have a job working for CBS or Newsweek is a mystery to me.
King Yam covered all the most important points eloquently, with the exception of the idea that if a demonstration is in the minority it should expect attack. This may very well be the playbook of the Left, where numbers = license to assault, loot and otherwise behave like a lawless idiot, but it is still illegal. And is a classic example of intimidation used to silence dissent.
Which is no doubt the very point that KPC was making above, if only I had a tinfoil hat receiver....

Why not just hook a chain to a truck and do some serious direct action.
