On Tuesday, May 17, Donald Bray, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Cal State Los Angeles, will give a talk about "Cuba: The Dream and the Drama." The talk will be from 6:15 to 7:30 PM.
How do you get there? Follow the salseros!
Due to the recent closure of CSULA's Student Union and the subsequent shortage of meeting rooms, and the resulting delay in getting rooms for events like this, we of the Humanist Ass'n. have hit upon a novel way of getting people to our events. At 5:45 PM, shortly before the event, a Latin band will strike up some Cuban cha-cha's at the entrance of King Hall, next to Café Dolcini, and will then proceed to lead people to the meeting room, Pied Piper style.
Last year during Fall Quarter, we led 50 people in a Cervantean parade to a talk about Erasmus and humanism. During Winter Quarter, we put on a Venezuelan parade that led 60 people to a talk about Hugo Chavez. This one should be the best yet! Come hear some música and get educated también!
This event is co-sponsored by the Humanist Association and the Latin American Society. Info: (323) 876-1767.
Cal State L.A. is located at the interesection of the 10 and 710 freeways. King Hall is at the north end of the campus.
