To me, the Minute Men (the vigil antes that have been patrolling the Arizona border) represent the beginnings of the Brown Barretts, the start of a fascist movement that scares me deeply. We have a governor who said Hitler is the man who he admires most, who has invited them to our state. I want to know what are the plans to drive the out of California if they try to come, they are saying they will come this summer. I think this is an absolutely essential that we mobilize mass numbers to confront them and drive them out of our state.

It's the Brown Berets, not Brown Barrettes. The BBs *are* over; the ones around now aren't regarded by everyone as the "real" BBs, who were active in the 1960s and 1970s. They were not a fascist group. They were a radical Chicano rights group.

Recently, I learned that Ernst Rohm was actually a socialist. He, and other liberal/leftists in the Nazi party, were killed by Hitler due to a power struggle. While I was reading in the SOS site, I did see that there was a former leftist in there, and a few people who wrote like liberal/leftists. Peculiar.

Sir: my mother spent more than a year filling out immigration papers before we could enter the U.S.A. legally. I don't see why others should not do the same. Whenever the word "illegal" is attached to anthing, there are usually penalities. As a citizen, I feel as if my rights are constantly being violated by those who literraly get obease in this country and have the luxury of escaping taxes, fees, license revocation and even jail! Recently a cop killer was located in Mexico. I'm sure he's not one-in-a-million, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened here. He did the crime and jumped over the boarder. Wanting the heat to burn down before crossing back over to do god-knows-what next.

American citizens are punished serverly for any crime we may commit and taxed even worse. It makes no sense that an illegal immigrant can go to a county hospital and have her child there just so she can stay in this country. When senior citizens, a lot of whom are veterans, cannot afford thier medication because we are supporting a life style of an immigrant who doesn't respect our country enough to appliy for proper citizenship. Who spits on out flag by carrying thier own and posting up signs that say, "Los Angeles, Mexico" - crossing California out. When in fact , if they knew thier history - would call it Los Angeles, Spain because the word Mexican is a derivitive from a Latin word meaning mixture. The mixture of an indiginous people mixed with Spainards. Furthermore, this indiginious people did not cover all of California. There were many other tribes on this land. But.... ignorance is bliss to some.
Please excuse me if I seem to be ranting. That is not my intention at all. But I fail to see that when the founding fathers wrote the rights of citizenship, they considered the over population, poverty and crme that is Mexicos over flow. The education standard in Californa is the third lowest in the nation, mostly due to the students not being able to speak English (and sadly enough, a lot of the teachers.)

I do not consider the Minutemen racists, nor to I consider them a threat to hard-working Latino citizens who must suffer because of thier illegal counter parts.

Many will say that illegal Mexicans work the jobs no one else wants to do, etc. but the bottom line is that they are criminals. They have entered the country illgelly and should be sent back. If they drop a baby while they are her, then they should have 3 months from crossing over her to apply or she and the child GO BACK! If one cannot respect this country enough to apply for citizenship and pay the dues that citizens pay, then they need to be arrested, the country of Mexico needs to be fined and that person needs to be sent back. No exceptions. Americans caught in Mexico have been treated awful by thier law. Americans caught elsewhere need to follow the rules of that country. If there is no exceptionfor us, then there should be no exception for them. Teenagers can do the jobs that illegals have stolen from citizens, prison workers can work for thier meal and reduce our taxes.

Final note, it is not fair for the word "ILLEGAL" to be ignored, it is not fair for them to come and go as they please, using up our resources, lowering our education standards and crowding out citizens with over population.
