This clip is coming out late because it was to be included in the Glass Bead Collective's Watch This! This footage may or may not be included in the post election cut of that documentary. Think of this as a directors cut. On August 29th over a 1/2 million people took to the streets of
New York to protest the Republican agenda at a UFPJ
sponsored March that ended at Union Square where the protestors
were told they would have to disburse, so they did. Disburse is
not the same as "go home". 1/2 million people disbursed
throughout the city. Some went to Central
Park even though they were told that was not an acceptable place
for "protestors" to disburse to. Those
defiant Central Parkers enjoyed a nice day in the park; while
many of those who disbursed compliantly ... to other parts of the
city, were arrested unjustly... pre-emptively ... Mini Marches weaved
themselves through Mid
Town Manhattan in hopes of running across some Republican Delagates
to communicate their displeasure to. Times
Square was the focal point of Mouse
Block, Kissing Queers and Anti-Authoritarian affinity groups
and for several hours became a make shift detention facility as
Police fenced in hundreds of people. Most
ended up @ pier 57. Meanwhile, bike
riders were being attacked by unmarked scooter Pigs and independent
media and medics were being taken off the street for 20 - 40 hours. A29
