This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, Spanish National Radio, Radio Havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia.
From NETHERLANDS- In Kuwait, military forces have attacked Islamic rebels, a group that is growing in opposition to western civilians and US soldiers. The King of Nepal has sacked the government and declared a state of emergency to shut down the Maoist rebellion- the King's actions are frowned upon by both Nepalese citizens and international opinion. New laws in the Netherlands, similar to the US Patriot Act, are a threat to democracy in the opinion of many Dutch citizens.
From SPAIN- Colombian rebels attacked a naval base with homemade bombs. Spain's foreign minister told Parliment that Spain's policy toward Latin America is aimed at protecting the rights and sovreignity of those nations.
From CUBA- First a Viewpoint on the Free Trade Area of the Americas, which is seen in many nations as an attempt by the US to increase its control of the politics and economics of the entire western hemisphere. The Peruvian government has gone to the International Court of Justice to force Japan to extradite former Peruvian president Fujimori. Then a Viewpoint on the outcome of elections in Iraq.
From RUSSIA- The Iraqi authorities want a complete report on the US run concentration camp for Iraqi POWs, where a rebellion occured on Monday. Iran will send spent nuclear fuel rods to Russia for reprocessing. Then a commentary on US Sec of State Rice's trip to visit foreign ministers in Europe and the Middle East, to prepare the way for Bush's visit at the end of February.

If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
