"Accumulating experiences with Southern 'law and order' were turning me into a full-fledged revolutionary," -- James Forman

Of relevance to activists:
- Forman came into SNCC and made it militant, by taking care of the boring issues, and also pushing for direct action.
- Forman did not distinguish between voting and direct action, seeing them as both part of the same movement.
- SNCC used the Black Panther image first, and pushed a grassroots, involved politics. The BPP later carried on with this politics.
