Fighting Wal-Mart in Quebec

Despite Walmart's anti-union campaign and dirty tricks Wal-Mart workers in Quebec won a major victory when they forced Wal-Mart to recognize their union - North America's only unionized Wal-mart. They are currently in the midst of bargaining for their first contract.

Wal-Mart recently drew the ire of unions, community groups and elected representatives in Queens after news of the planned opening of a 135,000-sq.-foot store in the retail-heavy Queens Center Mall

area was leaked to newspapers, Wal-Mart pays its workers rock bottom wages and relies on cheap labor to undercut local retailers.
