Nevada for too long left a wasteland by mining corporations engaging in mineral theft from Newe Sogobia. The devastation from mine tailings contaminates the water for decades or more.

Mining corporations strip the Earth bare in search of uranium for military weapons (currently causing cancer in Iraqi civilians), gold, silver and other minerals. After finishing their theft of underground minerals, the corporations leave the mine tailings exposed to weathering effects of rain and erosion, polluting the precious little water available to the desert ecosystem..
