When one thousand lies are told as true
one thousand lies are multiplied
one thousand smiles turn into frowns
one thousand orphans wonder why
one thousand fears create a war
one thousand people believe the lie
one thousand soldiers prepare to leave
one thousand phantoms haunt the skies
one thousand hearts skip a beat
one thousand myths are sold as facts
one thousand mothers start to cry
one thousand soldiers start to pack
one thousand nightmares kill our dreams
one thousand bombs explode outside
one thousand prayers go unheard
one thousand widows mourn and cry
one thousand protestors fill the streets
one thousand questions go unasked
one thousand legs are blown clean off
one thousand drops of blood fall fast
one thousand hearts are bleeding
one thousand tears fall from her face
one thousand laws are broken
one thousand saints fall from grace
one thousand terrors haunt the land
one thousand men fear for their lives
one thousand hostages are bound and gagged
one thousand bullets go shooting by
one thousand weapons are piled up
one thousand politicians spew their lies
one thousand eyes close for the last time
one thousand lies are magnified
one thousand buglers play Taps
one thousand ghosts scare the town
one thousand flags fly at half staff
one thousand coffins drop six feet down
one thousand snipers take careful aim
and one thousand soldiers die in vain.
