Some California legislators are angry with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger after he referred to them as "girlie-men" during a speech on Saturday.

The movie star-turned-politican used the term to describe opposition Democrats he said who are too weak to stand up to unions and trial lawyers demanding changes in the governor's state budget proposal.
The phrase comes from an old television comedy routine where two Schwarzengger-like bodybuilders use it to mock those who lack their bulging muscles.
Several Democratic lawmakers say the remark was insulting to women and homosexuals. State Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez said the comment was "beneath the governor."
But a Schwarzenegger spokesman says the comment was the governor's way of saying that legislators are "wimps" (weaklings) by giving into special interest groups.

The Nazi Schwarzenegger deserves a good general strike now. See: http://www.la.indymedia.org/news/2004/07/114428.php

A strike will illustrate how little gays matter and the absence of the problems they cause (defiling marriage, driving up health insurance costs and diverting research from non-behavioral diseases like cancer in favor of AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS) will serve to remind others just how much better it was before peversity became acceptable.

those reacting to the remark are only giving publicity to schwarzenegger. it's ridiculous of course, but if the response is in a serious tone, then he wins.
the response should be something along the lines of "for someone who used to wear a bikini and cover himself in oil, it seems that the phrase girlie-men is somewhat misdirected."
the left is ALWAYS going to lose until it gets a sense of humor, and recognizes the american culture for what it is. Indeed, the left's inability to connect with working class americans is precisely why Schwarzenegger is governor...the culture wants a popular movie star, not a latte drinking stiff, armchair intellectual who comes across as arrogant and elitist (and corrupt to boot).
wake up lefties, this is a culture war directly, and indirectly a political one. the right understands this, that the battle is fundamentally one about FORM, NOT FUNCTION.

and of course, there is nothing wrong with being a girlie-man anyways. the people Schwarzenegger was talking about should say thanks! and invite him along to the next spa.
in fact, we should send him a free gift certificate to a gay bath facility. woohooo!

I thought it was funny how he attacked unions and trial lawyers. What about the corporations and real estate developers?
And he did this at Ontario Mills. Jeez. I guess he really wanted to make it easy for white power 'tards to find the event.
