FREE JEFF LUERS NOW!

In June, 2001 23 year old forest defender Jeff "Free" Luers was convicted of setting fire to three SUVs. To make a statement about global warming and the role SUVs play in that process, the vehicles were set ablaze at a car dealership in Eugene, Oregon. Extreme measures were taken to ensure that no one was injured. Despite the fact that the action harmed no one, caused only ,000 in damages and the cars were later resold, Jeff received 22 years and eight months in prison; a sentence considerably longer than those convicted of murder, kidnapping and rape. He has spent the last four years of his life serving that sentence. This July, Jeff's case goes up for appeal with the goal of getting his sentence reduced. Funds for his defense are greatly needed, as well as support. Please join us for a night of resistance to benefit Jeff Luers!
