As a student at Temple University in Philadelphia, Karen Pomer produced and directed a film project about some of her neighbors in Powellton Village - a 'family' called MOVE. Filmed during the actual siege of the MOVE home in Powellton Village by Philadelphia police, the documentary won national acclaim and awards including the Blue Ribbon at the American Film Festival.
