In lieu of SF IMC, care to expand on your post?

The site is back up, but I'll fill in the descrip anyway. Bev, who posted the article, tells us that the Secret Service is investigating a fair-voting organization (http://www.blackboxvoting.org/) with which she is affiliated. For some reason, the last national election left Bev and a few other people concerned that Americans' right to a fairly counted vote is in dubious waters.

Some guy named Mike is involved, and he keeps asking questions that get off the topic that the Secret Service claims to be investigating. Bev suspects that Mike and his friends are not being altogether honest about their motives. They seem to want a lot of extraneous information. To quote Bev:

"Under the Patriot Act, "hacking" crimes were turned over to a new division, called the CyberCrimes division, and placed under the auspices of the Secret Service. And let me tell you what they want from me now: They want the logs of my web site with all the forum messages, and the IP addresses. That's right. All of them. A giant fishing expedition for every communication of everyone interested in the voting issue. This has nothing to do with a VoteHere "hack" investigation, and I have refused to turn it over."

The most important is: "So, yesterday, they call me up and tell me they are going to subpeona me and put me in front of a grand jury. Well, let 'em. They still aren't getting the list of members of BlackBoxVoting.org unless they seize my computer -- which my attorney tells me might be what they have in mind. "

I left a comment on the page and it is now gone. Also, most of the article is original, but I don't remember all of it. It could be me, I read a lot of stuff in a day and do tend to forget parts when they get off topic, but something seems different. (in reality, I probably skimed these areas when I read it, but never know). This seems to suggest that the goverment wants to know who is reading what......that is a real police state with thought crimes. If you haven't done it yet, read 1984.
