. . .
.
Last night, CBS' 60 Minutes Two aired allegations—supported by numerous photographs and witnesses—that document numerous cases of torture and abuse of Iraqi prisoners inside Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
Amongst the photographs were pictures of prisoners with wires attached to their genitals, prisoners stacked in a pyramid, prisoners forced to simulate oral sex on others, and prisoners who appear to have been beaten to death.
The New York Times is now covering this story. A total of 17 soldiers, including a brigadier general, have been removed from duty as a result, and Court-Martials are in the works for at least six soldiers. At least one of those charged blames the military for staffing the prison with reservists, not providing them with procedures for running the facility, and not educating them on the proper treatment of prisoners.
More bad and potentially inflammatory news at a bad time. The pictures are already circulating out there and other articles are already in the works, so it's a safe bet that the pictures will be broadcast on Arab television very shortly—just like they were on CBS.
Of course, there is deafening silence over at
and the other bastions of righteousness, although you can rest assured that if our POWs were ever treated like this, they'd be howling like rabid banshees—as would I.
Like Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt very correctly stated:
"If we can't hold ourselves up as an example of how to treat people with dignity and respect, we can't ask that other nations do that to our soldiers."
This Iraqi prisoner had electrical wires wrapped around his arms, his legs, and his testicles. He was told that if he stepped off the box, that he would be electrocuted.
They were forced to get up on one of another in a pyramid, with bags over their heads.
They're in that pyramid, bodies stacked up on one another, and those two soldier guards are grinning like it's some big fun game to play with the prisoners.
They were forced to do oral sex on each other at gunpoint.
A big, wide smile on the woman's face as she does a thumbs-up and points at the exposed genitals of the Iraq man with his two other prisoners sitting on the ground with bags over their heads.
Again, there are the smiles and the thumbs-up gesture while the Iraqi man huddles on the bodies of his other prisoners in that pyramid.
This is the body of an Iraqi man who died of beatings at the hands of the American soldiers.
So how should Iraqis feel towards American soldiers? Nice war heroes huh?
and i realize that some of you might think that everything above is an isolated innocent of some crazy soldiers have some "fun" - but it's not.. what else did you think would happen in Iraq? when in fact Video

Allegations are not evidence or proof.
Just that lying sack of shit Tawana Brawley and lying sack of shit Foul Sharpton.
Hell, no one knows who's in these photos or what's going on.
Saddam has a lot more skill at torturing his people. Maybe we should return him to Iraq, let the allahs remember what it was like for a month, then nuke the whole fucking zoo.

How the apologists howl when the light comes on, and they scurry into the shadows, screeching LIAR_LIAR!
Yeah you would want to bring back your little CIA stooge, Saddam wouldn't you?

Before the war in Iraq the American public was made scathing mad at images of rape-rooms, mass graves, and Iraqis being thrown off buildings for the amusement of Saddam's henchmen.
Now, apparently, Americans are the ones running these facilities!

The pictures of victims of American torture with the gleeful US soldiers must prove a potent image to the global community of the American insanity. Not only are the photographs of torture via electric shock revolting but perhaps worse is the cavalier, amusement park face of the (female?) soldier. Obviously this person has been trained and brainwashed to disregard human life and gloat at the dehumanization of prisoners.
But Generals love and heroize the torturers and will continue to create an environment for these crimes to flourish. Look at what is happening in Fallujah. First we are told that the Baathists are the true Iraqui terrorists, and then when the Marines are stalemated by a resistance unforeseen, the Generals hand over the rebel town to former Iraqui generals. Weren’t these the guys who were supposed to be in the photographs above? Well, if the imbecilitic right-wing is going to justify torture … why not? No, the Generals take care of their own, and the torture of prisoners will continue. If there is a problem with media than they’ll just privatize the prisons under the clouded vision of the psychopath commander-in-chief and put the Dyncorp mercenaries in charge. The torture techniques mercenaries such as Dyncorp's study in their Orange/San Diego County compounds won’t be directly funded by the American taxpayer, and so the corporate media will ignore it.
There is a larger problem though, in that the effects of the militarization of consciousness as exampled in the smiling torturers and the buddy-buddy generals illuminates how twisted the US militaries mentality has become under bush, who is more concerned with how many angels dance on the head of a pin than with human life the and suffering of civilians in war zones. This strange fruit can be summed up as: Everybody without a uniform is an enemy. Everybody with a uniform above the rank of General(?) is a friend.
What does this say about our nation and our culture? If this is a war for the soul of America, than the military is definitely on the side of brainwashing, constant brutality, and shadow agreements with those who should be punished but instead are allowed to fester and grow again. Meanwhile bush is spouting nonsense and burying his head in fairy tales about the Rapture.
What has happened to the American values, the wonderful experiment of participation, that most in the world looked at as a beacon of hope, now that madmen are in control and the generals hatch plans with each other?

Private contractors
The abuses have thrown the spotlight on the shadowy world of private contractors.
A military report into the Abu Ghuraib case - parts of which were made available to the Guardian newspaper showed that private contractors were supervising interrogations in the prison.
One civilian contractor was accused of raping a young, male prisoner but has not been charged because military law has no jurisdiction over him.
The military investigation names two US contractors, CACI International and the Titan Corporation, for their involvement in Abu Ghuraib.

Yawn. Another dumbass liberal schizophrenic. All the evil in the world is the US's fault. All tyrants around the world are enabled by the USA, not one of them became a tyrant on their own.
The difference between this unfortunate episode of American renegade torturers and saddam's business-as-usual torturers is as Americans we don't condone this type of thing. Those responsible will be punished.
Go back to eurotrashland if you don't like the USA. or stay there if you're already there.
