Anarchist Pride Month parade.

Anarchist Pride Month [ March ] is, ideally, a positive reaction to the mainstream [ corporate-owned ] media's backlash against Anarchists. Or anyone with anti-capitalist political beliefs. It also ties in with the usual 3 yearly events [ The Cafe, the Book Fair and the Conference ], the necessary mainstream concept Women's Month, local Anarchist birthdays and multiple demonstrations. As it stands right now, Anarchists are depicted in most people's minds as "bomb-throwing terrorists" or "black masqued criminals". Most of our kind don't identify openly as Anarchist out of shame, enbarassment, mostly fear of persecution or being labelled as "insane" by ignorant folks who still buy into this system's bullshit. With Bush and Cheney still running the whole show in Washington D.C., plans for economic globalisation on the rise, inner-city police forces becoming more militarised and Capitalism being in a dying state, now is the perfect time in history to be an Anarchist. Or just plain anti-capitalist. Now is the perfect opportunity for us to be proud of who we are politically without persecution. With these things in mind, there will be a parade in S.F. as a means to show pride in ourselves and our ideology-of-choice. And to have hella fun while doing it. Bring your signs, puppets, black and black-&-red flags, banners, food and drinks for a picnic, musical instruments, frisbees, bikes, noisemakers and your voices. Let's show the S.F. Bay Area that not all Anarchists are "terrorists", "criminals" or just Black Bloc-types. Never feel shame for your beliefs!
