National Priorities

Speaking out on the issues

I hate the DNC bullshit about tax cuts for the wealthy. That’s a dog that won’t ever hunt. Tax cuts should be for those who paid the taxes. To do otherwise would be for government to redistribute income. A government that does that is not one that I could ever vote for. Redistribution of income is unthinkable and totally repugnant to me. I want no part of any government who confiscates and redistributes personal incomes.

Tax cuts do benefit the economy. The false characterization of ‘the rich’ by the lame Democrats is complete and total bullshit. The people and companies who pay the taxes are the employers — the folks creating those jobs that we crave. Give them back their own money so that they’ll be able to afford to hire more folks.

Social safety net programs?? Give me a break. Confiscating and redistributing income in order to buy votes is not any kind of social safety net. I don’t want my government to be confiscating and handing out money taken involuntarily from their political opponents. That sucks.

Increasing the minimum wage (a lot) is not the way to increase jobs and would be extremely detrimental to any economic recovery. You can’t have it both ways. Either you favor handouts or you favor recovery. Make up your mind.

Organized labor has no place in the modern world. Unions are a drag on the economy. They force companies to relocate overseas. They are in the job elimination business. The sooner we get rid of them the better. I shudder at the thought of labor unions. They’re entirely repugnant.

I’m for fair and open trade. No import tariffs unless retaliatory for import tariffs imposed on American goods. I want our government to aid and abet American industry — not to regulate, tax, and impede.

I am terrified at the prospect of yet another Democrat administration. Somehow we miraculously managed to skate through eight long years of the Clinton administration despite a scandal every two to four weeks. This President is the biggest upgrade in history. Clinton was the worst President in US history and I doubt he’ll ever lose that tag.

The very best thing about President Bush is that he gets things done. Clinton talked a good game when it came to the Taliban and Saddam, but he did practically nothing. George gets the job done! What more could we ask? Afghanistan and Irag have both been liberated and are well along the path toward stable Democratic governments. GWB deserves our admiration, thanks, and respect.

I like Kerry

by American Citizen Friday, Mar. 19, 2004 at 4:51 AM

Kerry represents the real American Dream -- marry a rich girl (twice) and get a free ride in life (twice). How good does it get.

His foreign policy will likely borrow from his own experiences. He'll propose that we marry a rich country like Switzerland.
