I've been to a number of ANSWER coordinated demos, and my main complaint, aside from the police tape that just looks ugly, is that the speakers are so often very negative.
The amplification is so loud that you can't escape the din of yet-another-approved-speaker getting off on some rant about american imperialism. I wish they could at least alternate with something that's positive and, maybe, even beautiful.
Can't we talk about our dreams of how we can improve things and find our power, instead of how we must contend with anger, fear, and the powerful?
I'll see you all at the march!
they rant and rage and turn everyone off. imnot going to the march because i feel that i can acomplish more by participating in grass roots organizing.
I see you are smart enough to think for yourself. Groups like ANSWER are against just about everything, but we have no idea what they are FOR.
Thet fact is. they have no ideas. They just want to smasht the system. They're negative losers and they're going nowhere.
My advice to you Johnk is to join the Young Republicans. With them, you can really make a difference to society and not just have to settle for sitting around cursing the world.
These three right-wingers are going to be doing community organizing? For what? Cointelpro? KOBE?
The Re-elect Bush Committee? The Be An Army of One recruiting campaign?
PR - you should come to the march. It'll be fun. A lot of different contingents will be forming and doing interesting things, and it will be a good place to do some easy grassroots organizing.

If you like The Smiths or Morrissey, and are against the war, walk with us, sing Smiths and Morrissey political chants, wax up your pompadour, wear your favorite shirt, and join the sensitive anti-war mob! Alone, we may be quite softspoken, but together, we can be louder than bombs.
Is this for real?
Really?
How exactly does a "Morrissey political chant" go?
