On March 20th, retake activism in LA! Prove that our rage over this unjust war and occupation will not be confined to permitted marches facilitated by bureaucracies that stifle real efforts towards building another world.
Join the March 20th Anti-Capitalist Contingent
To Abolish War, We must Abolish Capitalism!
War is not the problem. War is only a symptom of a larger problem, that problem being our current economic and poltical system. We will never have a world without war as long as we live in a system based on borders, competition and the quest for profits without regard for human life.
Last year, we marched through city streets & rain, held weekly vigils, lit candles, wrote letters, obeyed their laws, their rules. We fit perfectly into the system’s preexisting routes for voicing our dissent and rage, ones which did not threaten the status quo ….
Nothings changed! The administration was not moved. We were a million plus “focus group.” And so….the occupation of Iraq continues…
On March 20th, retake activism in LA! Prove that our rage over this unjust war and occupation will not be confined to permitted marches facilitated by bureaucracies that stifle real efforts towards building another world. Reach out to other activists in the movement, let them know that there is an alternative to the state, capitalism and the wars these systems perpetuate. Bring drums, literature, flags, banners, your hearts & voices. Celebrate our movement. With each day, autonomy & freedom are drawing closer…
When: March 20th, Global day of protest against the occupation of Iraq
Where: 12 noon - ANSWER rally in Los Angeles at the intersection of Hollywood & Vine.
(For the contingent, meet up at the head of the march and/or look for banners and black flags)
For general info on the march, visit www.answerla.org

Yeah... meet up at the head of the hijacked march and/or look for banners and black flags carried by a bunch of loonies dressed all in black... with masked faces... who refuse to be photographed. Yeah... right.
How about this plan... you organize your own protest march, on a different day, at a different time and place... and see how many of your black blockhead pals show up. You'll have no massive crowd to hide behind of course, and so you'll have to take the blows from the LAPD instead of the innocent Moms with children, elderly, and all the others you'll put in danger.
Creeps.
ALL OUT FOR MARCH 20th! And ignore the black bloc disrupters

Someone posted surprise when i denounced black bloc tactics. Look the origininal post was calling for more than a "contigent":
>> Last year, we marched through city streets & rain, held weekly vigils, lit candles, wrote letters, obeyed their laws, their rules. We fit perfectly into the system’s preexisting routes for voicing our dissent and rage, ones which did not threaten the status quo …. The implication is that we not "obey their laws." If you want a campaign of civil disobedience, then fine... go organize one. However, piggy backing your demands and plans for action on the work that others have done is not only against the notion of solidarity... but dangerous as well. By this I mean... many will come to the demo based on what the original organizers put out in the way of "points of unity" and objectives. Moms will come with kids, elderly folks will join, etc. We have an obligation NEVER to put these people in danger.
If you want civil disobedience and the breaking of laws... then tell people up front what your intentions are. If they are ready to follow you then terrific. If they are not ready to follow you then you have no business launching such a project. Our country's history gives many such examples... from the labor organizing of the 30's to the Civil Rights and Black Power movements of the 60's. Splinter marches don't do much... but solid grass roots organizing gets the goods.

The implication in the call is that marches calling for an end to war and not the end to a system which necessitates them, do not threaten the status go. I should also ask you to support your statement about good ole' grassroots organizing getting the goods. So our million plus, almost monthly marches prevented or put an end to the war and subsequent occupation of Iraq?

The lead article in this thread has to be one of the dumbest posts that I've ever read here (and there are a lot of dumb ones).
Abolishing Capitalism would be tantamount to abolishing civilization and a return to Neanderthal times. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
And the opposition to the war in Iraq is dumb too. Would you want Saddam back? (hint: He would be back if not for the war. Duh!)

the initial post was not intended for you. It was intended for people who want to abolish the capitalist system and for people who are against the war. It was not intended for war loving capitalists. Its not hard to figure that out. why would you respond? or do you just get a kick out of putting people down?

First of all, anyone who wants to 'end the Capitalist System' is too dumb to debate. It's not a put down - just a simple observation of the facts.
The same is true for someone who would prefer to have Saddam in power today in Iraq. That's what the anti war crowd is about. Keeping Saddam and his murderous regime in power.

I never asked for a debate.. I asked why would you respond to something that obviously doesnt interest you. You say you were compelled? I guess then the question is, compelled for what reason.. to prove that your right and we're wrong?
Different people have different ideas and opinions, that is a simple fact. To call names at peoples ideas and opinions is, indeed, putting people down.
Maybe you are fed up with people who dont agree with you, and hey, thats ok, but maybe you shouldnt come to sites like this one if you just want to name call and say peoples ideas are dumb. At least engage in respectful criticism.
