The year Halle Berry and Denzel Washington won Oscars for best actor and actress has proven to be the exception. Since then no African American actor has even been nominated for best actor. African American films and actors long been discriminated and denied opportunities beyond the stereotypical roles have again been burned by the Academy.
Djimon Hounsou is the only person of African descent nominated for an Oscar this year for his work in a supporting actor role in the film In America. Last year Queen Latifah was the only person of African descent nominated for her work in Chicago. But received no consideration by the Golden Globes for her work in Bringing Down the House one of the most profitable comedies of the year.
Cuba Gooding Jr. winner of a best supporting actor Oscar for Jerry Maguire received no consideration for his role in Radio or The Fighting Temptations a delightful movie also starring Beyonce. The Fighting Temptations should have at least been considered for a Golden Globe for best musical or comedy. If the cast had been white only as the Golden Globe Awards appeared I guess it might have received some consideration. (But See Love Actually) Cuba also got burned when he did not receive recognition for his great work in the film Men of Honor. more at http://www.blackstate.com

What's especially annoying is that the area known as Hollywood is probably only half White people, if that. Same for places like LA or Orange County, NYC, Houston, Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco. What do you see when they make movies in these places? It looks like most people are White, and mainly Whites get the speaking roles. What's up with that?
There are almost no more cities in America that are as White as the cities on TV and in movies. Portland, maybe Seattle, parts of Boston. Hollywood needs to take a look out its window, and take a good look at who is out there, and change how casting is performed.

Have a new category, "Best Performance by a person of African Descent." "Best supporting actor of African Descent." Best cinematographer of African descent. Whatever. That make ya happy?

Move your black ass back to Nigeria, Sierra Leone, or Burkina Faso, and open a movie studio in Ouagadougou. There, you can produce ALL of your movies exclusively with black people and hog all the credit for those blockbuster hits. People around the world are starving for video entertainment of naked coloreds with rings in their noses, shaking spears in rage and dialoguing through a series of distinctive clicking noises. Personally though, I'm the type to wait for it to come out on DVD...

Well, as far as not being able to see Hollywood mass productions of all those wonderful home video camera made documentaries byhomocide bomber maniacs in their final few moments of dedicated themselves to Allah's cause just before going into the local Pizza Parlor or Israeli transport bus to blow themselves up, all I have to say about that is that my heart bleeds for you whilst my fiddle plays...

The evil JOO should be wearing a shirt that says "kike" so everyone knows who it represents, and the innocent boy should have an explosive belt on. Other than that, it's fine.
What the world really wants to see is movies made by Palestinians. Yeah, that would sure fill some seats.

-you ignore (deny) what's staring you in the face then *make up* what you wish to be..
I was going to say the film reel is a bomb (sarcasticly) as I posted some links to Palestinian movies from the Internet Archive, but when I tried to grab the links all the movies were "unavailable for download" for some strange reason.
Maybe hollywood has "infected" it too ?

Without discounting your point entirely (although the amount of non-white roles in major pictures is increasing exponentially and almost on par with white roles), just because a movie is MADE in Hollywood doesn't have anything to do with the community PORTRAYED in the film.

If you really want to get down to brass tacks, the fact remains that there is and was no "massacre" of the "palestinian" people.
Certainly not by Israel at least.

He's a WAR CRIMINAL for his direct role in the Jenin massacre, there's court papers, photographs and testimony on this alone...
A panel of judges found the evidence quite convincing.

...where was this trial held wherein Sharon was convicted as a war criminal?
And do you deny that all the Palestinians killed...all 54 of them, not 500 as the initial reports from the lying Palestinians said...were combatants, and therefore legal military targets?
Yeah...I bet you do. Can't admit to a single shred of culpability by the Pals, can you?

Ariel Sharon was convicted of war crimes in 1982.
On Monday June 18, three lawyers filed a complaint on behalf of 28 plaintiffs and witnesses, all survivors of the Sabra and Shatila massacres, before an investigating judge in Brussels, Belgium.
>>> Thus the first case was formally opened against Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel, on counts of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
On Friday June 22, New York-based Human Rights Watch called for a criminal investigation of Sharon.
Then, on Wednesday June 27, a Lebanese lawyer, May Khansa, filed a lawsuit against the Israeli prime minister in Lebanon charging that he committed the massacres in the Palestinian refugee camps in 1982.
Sharon, who was reprimanded by Israel's Kahane Commission for his role in the massacre
Three years on, we see the results of Sharon’s latest war crime spree. What we are witnessing in the West Bank and Gaza is another Sabra and Shatila massacre on the installment plan. It appears that Sharon has resurrected Unit 101, the notorious death squad that he commanded in the massacre at Qibya in 1953. Hardly a day goes by, without a few unarmed Palestinians getting shot by Israeli occupation soldiers. A suspicious percentage of the casualties are shot in the back. Sharon knows that, at least for now, he needs to keep his daily kill count in the single digits. Over the last three years, his goon squads have killed 2,500 Palestinians and seriously wounded thousands of others. He has razed enough homes to satisfy the ‘Lidice’ fantasies of Daniel Pipes and has systematically destroyed much of the infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza. Now, collective punishment is the daily lot of the Palestinians and Israel is using starvation as a weapon of repression.

Say, does that count include Palestinians killed by Palestinians?
Don't bother...I lknow it does.
And you blindly swallow it all. Sucker!
Oh, about the trial...it has credibility because...?
Never mind, I know that one too.
It's credible because it found an Israeli guilty.
Had Arafat been tried and convicted of war crimes, would you have been shouting it out?
Somehow, I doubt it.
