JOINT COMMUNITY SUPPORT ACTION FOR GROCERY STRIKERS!

COME TO THE WAREHOUSE IN EL MONTE ON TUESDAY MORNING!

Community Action to Support Labor (CAPSL is a project of the ANSWER Coalition) is joining with the Los Angeles Striker Solidarity Organization (LASSO) and other community organizations in a grocery strikers support action on Tuesday, December 30th at 6 am. YES, THAT'S RIGHT. WE SAID 6 AM!

Since the bosses rejected a very generous offer by the UFCW in the last round of negotiations, the picketing at four warehouses that deliver food to Vons has become much more important. Many of the Vons trucks load up at the El Monte warehouse beginning at 6 in the morning. The workers there have been doing a great job, but on Tuesday morning we want to strengthen that picket line with as much community support as we can bring.

Some activists plan to participate in an attempt to block the trucks, knowing that there may be arrests. The National Lawyers Guild will be on hand to give people an orientation. Others will simply stay in the picket line and not participate in that part of the action. Those who don't want to be arrested are still very much needed to show how much community support this strike has.
