Ho do we protect Dennis Kucinich?
In the off chance that many people work together to spread his platform and overcome the media curtain and if the vote manipulations can be minimized, barring martial law being used...
Things are desperate in the cloudy heights of power now days. You can feel it in the acceleration of greed for the vestiges of remaining resources, the use of force and the naked criminality that taunts us with their disdain for common decency or humanity.
We see a government led into serving the wealth despite the plight of a ravaged manufacturing base and crumbling infrastructure that the roach droppings at the top WANT to fail so we can privatize the rebuild and distribution of all life supporting services. If this man's message about NAFTA GATT FAST TRACT etc ever creeps out from the heavy media blind spot the you can believe the people will show their disapproval of our current tax supported train wreck of an economy. How do you think the major stock owning families feeeeeel about Dennis Kucinich?
To believe that he wouldn't be targeted would be naive.
How can we as a people, prevent the standard practice of last measure recourse in the from of assassination?

You've got to be. To think that ANYONE thinks about Kucinich at all is sorta wishful thinking. He literally has NO CHANCE of being nominated.
You and I actually have the same chance of being elected as he does. Do we need a "people's guard"?
Actually, don't answer that, I can pretty well guess what you're answer is.
How did you ever become so out of touch with the world around you? You really are one for the books.

Who is Dennis Kucinich?
I saw a guy I didn't recognize on stage during the last debate. Is that him?

Very nice indeed.
I'm ALWAYS disarmed in the presence of a dog.
Well done.
Merry Christmas.

Are you kidding me? Why would Kucinich need a bodyguard? To protect him from the flies that land on top of his toupee? The "Kucinich for President" campaign has got to be the biggest joke since Pat Paulsen started running for that office in the late 60s. He's no threat to the system, that's for sure. He'll get a whopping 1% in the Democratic Party primary and then go home to Ohio.

The fact that Kucinich doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell is probably all the life insurance he'll need. His campaign wouldn't be a joke in a country where the citizens had a political IQ above zero, but he's definitely a voice in the wilderness in modern Amerika. There is no Democratic threat to the system,
unless you consider "well, at least he's not Bush" to be a revolutionary platform.

He's really suffered in the media. The man can't get a fair shake, even when he was polling pretty well. DJ K's message comforts the afflicted, and afflicts the comfortable... and the television is all about comfort.

Comfort and oblivion. I couldn't believe the treatment Nader got in 2000, either, (both from the media and the Democrats) although I shouldn't have been surprized. A good friend of mine for more than 30 years (since high school) is gaga for Howard Dean, and when I pointed out to him how "centrist" and Clinton-like Dean is, he stopped communicating with me. I find it very difficult to avoid sinking into chronic despair these days.

That's the spirit, Rogger - thanks. Last spring, our antiwar yard sign merited a 9PM visit, on a Saturday night, by a police officer who "kindly" informed my wife and I that we were upsetting some of our flag waving neighbors. He suggested that we consider taking it down, but conceded that he couldn't force us to do that because of our constitutional rights - the same rights that are now hanging by a thread in this era of The Department of Homeland Security and the "Patriot Act." We owe it to future generations to do everything we can to stop this slide into the dark night of fascism, no matter how overwhelming the odds against us seem to be.
"In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”
