Why Do Republicans Lie So much

by mymicz Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at 6:26 PM

Truths and Half Truths

The Republicans should not be giving lessons on how to undermine their opponents. That is, if their opponent is Dennis Kucinich.

A recent perusing of the RNC website's section on the Dems cadidates this year has me a bit confused.

Of course, the only candidate I like among the Dems is Kucinich, although dean is looking good to go on beating Bush.

So when I clicked on to the Kucinich page, I expected the Republicans to lambast him for more than he was worth really.

Instead, they all but made a case for him.

It's interesting that the RNC doesn't count on people to research subjects very often.

Honestly, as if I'm going to just believe anything anyone says without knowing the whole story.

The problem with the RNC's attack on Kucinich is that not only do I know the whole story, but a large percentage of Americans know the story as well.

Wee, relatively large.

On the site, the most prominent accusation against Kucinich is that he bankrupted Cleveland.

In a struggle against Enron type corporations, Kucinich fought off the sale of a public utility. A move that was emulated by the very conservative Riordan as well.

The city went into a huge, unprecedented default.

But the boy wonder Kucinich held strong, and ran from idiots who threatened his life, and lived to fight another day.

This part of the story the RNC has right, for once.

The half truth is hard to hide though. Since then Kucinich has been lauded as the boy wonder who saved Cleveland from Enron.

He has been given a key to the city, and honorary everything.

The sad thing is that the RNC found so little to bash Kucinich about, that is save his stance against tax cuts and big military.

This story, coupled with a tiny bit of backround information, helps make the case for why Dennis is really a menace to Republican interests. Because under his watch, the people were protected from big business.

Protecting people from big business isn't exactly the governments job. Under this administration it has been the opposite.

We have a pseudo oligarchical system that helps the big guy.

But we once had anti trust laws and regulatory agencies that stabilised and protected our dollars from the sheistiest of crooks.

The Republicans need to take lessons from Kucinich.

Especially when they choose to highlight the greatest victory he ever had against their power.

Tell the whole story RNC!

It doesn't pay to give leads into why you suck so bad at protecting the people. We all can figure out the half truth by typing one or two words into a search engine, or do you expect you followers not to research the truth?

I figured as much.

Kucinich is a non-issue.

Less than 2% of the Democraps support him.

That's less than 1% of the American people.

Brilliant strategy by the RNC though.

Why Repubs lie

If they told people the truth, their poll numbers would be lower than those for Kucinich.

"higher poll numbers due to lying"

Yeah, people are just too stupid and can't figure out when they are being lied too. And we all know that the Democrats have exclusive trademark rights on honesty. (Just ask the Clintons. Saw Hillary on Meet the Press this past weekend; she was still squawking about vast rightwing conspiracies.)

In conclusion, the reasons the Democrats suffer poor poll results are:

1. the American people are just too stupid to know when they are being lied to.

2. Democrats always tell the truth, no matter how ugly it is, and they are punished for doing so.

Perhaps the Democrats should try a different strategy, and lie once in a while. But what am I saying!? We all know they're not capable of such a perverse scheme as that...
