Americans believe in force.
They use force against their kids, with Ritalin and prison schools and monitoring their kids. They put their old people in old folks "homes." They put others in nut houses, that don't think like the mass idiots. They use force to collect mail. They use force to steal your hard-earned money. And they use force to bully people, espeically women and their looks. And they learn it all from the government. Because the State uses the most bully tactics of all. Then they wonder why their kids are violent. Because the kids are taught that force is okay, in certain instances. this drives the kids nuts. They are taught to be good, yet see the State using robbery against the people. Their schools where they are tainied to be prisoners in the big prison Police State (cameras in their bathrooms, drug testing). Police State U.S.A.
If gun control gives the power to the criminals, why is it that those countries in the industrialized world with strict gun control laws have such low crime rates compared with the US? This is particularly the case with violent crimes.
The idea of a gun owning public does, if only to a small effect so far, still possess a small amount of regard as to the prospects of an aroused and hostile general public as they are finding out in Iraq. The guns were brought out several times in our history and fire fights did occur between the military and selected groups of people. The military won because the general public wasn't involved and because the information control prevented wide dissemination of the events as they truly played out. Things are different now.
