They are in prison because they were arrested at the EU summit protest in Greece that took place in June of this year. They cannot go on much longer and all are in critical condition. They need you to call the Greek Embassy or demonstrate at your local embassy NOW. Summary of the UK indymedia article plus phone numbers for the US

More than five months after the European Union (EU) Summit protests in Thessaloniki, Greece, seven people remain incarcerated within the Greek prison System. Five of them are in critical condition - they have been on hunger strike for almost two months.

Simon Chapman(English), Fernando Perez Gorraiz (Spanish), Carlos Martin Martinez (Spanish), Souleiman "Kastro" Dakduk (Syrian), Spyros Tsitsas (Greek), and two Greek jeveniles are continuing to be denied justice, despite overwhelming evidence that they have been framed

Each of the five adult prisoners has refused to eat for anywhere from 45 days to over 60 days now. The prisoners' doctors latest medical reports reveal that irreparable damage has been done to the prisoners' health.

The prisoners are being joined in solidarity hunger strikes around the world. Demonstrations continue in Greece as well as elsewhere.

Two members of the Thessaloniki Prisoner Support Group handed an urgent letter of appeal to the Greek Ambasssador in London. They wanted assurances that he had watched the video evidence, recorded by Greek news television, which casts serious doubt over the integrity of the arrests made on that day. The Greek authorities must now make the decision whether to release the hunger strikers on bail or let them die.

It is critical that we act immediately.

We have to demand that the seven be released on bail and that the authorities review the evidence that shows that they were wrongfully arrested.
