There were an estimated 200,000 protesters in London to protest Bush, and Blair’s war in Iraq. They carried signs, and chanted slogans to protest Bush’s
visit to London.
Many of the protesters carried signs with the word Bush covered with red ink that looked like blood. As the bronze statue of Bush was pulled down in Trafalgar
Square the--which parodied Hussein’s statue being toppled--the crowd went hysterical in support.
The growing casualties, and worsening terrorism in Iraq have convinced many that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake, and a failure. The failure to find any WMD, and yellowcake gate scandal have also worsened public opinion in Britain.
In other developments, it appears that al Qaeda struck again in Istanbul, by bombing the British Consulate, and a British bank. There were at least 27
people killed in the bombing, including the British Consulate. Another 450 people were wounded during the terrorist attack.
There were some some vans that pulled up in front of the high rise bank with explosive devices on board. The British Banks high rise structure was devastated by the blast, and local citizens wandered around the area after the explosion, many with blood on their faces.
There was also another massive Seattle style protest in Miami today, against the formation of a free trade pact—the protesters say will cost Americans jobs.
Thousands of protesters rallied against free trade, and the AFL-CIO had a lot of workers demonstrating at the marches.
The level of protests are increasing in London, and Miami. It appears, that Bush, and Blair have created a lot of opposition, as a result of the Iraq War, and
support for free trade regimes.
