Humanist talk on Freethought at CSULA

A speaker from the Humanist Association will talk about the benefits of rational, free thought.

On Tuesday, October 28, the Humanist Association at Cal State Los Angeles will present Lois Lyons, Vice-President of the American Humanist Association and Co-President of the Humanist Association of Los Angeles, who will present a talk on "Developing Your Mind With Freethought." Lyons, a writer and editor from a Catholic background who is now an atheist, believes that freethought opens one's mind to creative, rational thinking, while belief in the supernatural, including God, lessens one's development as a rational thinker. Following an introduction by Reverend Paul Sawyer of Throop Memorial Church, Lyons will speak for half an hour followed by a half-hour question and answer period and then a one-hour reception with food and drink (non-alcoholic). This event is free and open to the public. 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Los Angeles Room A on the third floor of the University-Student Union, CSULA.
