Call to Converge, An Invitation

November 7-9 2003

Hermosillo, Sonora

Mexico

Our intention in organizing Colectividades 2003 is to unite collectives and individuals working for justice, to cross-pollinate our struggles, and to strengthen our networks -- especially across the border. Colectividades 2003 will feature an array of workshops and conferences as well as nightly bands or screenings from the 7th-9th of November in Hermosillo, Sonora (about about five hours south of Tucson, Arizona). Our desire is to increase awareness of what we are facing in these volatile global days and stimulate strong and thorough action to resist and transform the living causalities of expanding McEmpires.

There will be workshops on free radio; the art of video-documentary; printing; and the running of collective businesses; as well as direct action and street medic trainings.

Conferences will focus on the militarization of the border and of indigenous communities; the social and environmental carnage of the FTAA, PPP; political prisoners and systematized fascism; the intersecting struggles of organized campesinos, workers and indigenous pueblos; the murdered women of Juarez; gender and sex equality; and the liberation of animals.

We are offering free space to sleep and Comida no Bombas will serve daily. Rooms at a unionized hotel are available on a limited basis and may be reserved. Contact us or visit the website for ride coordination, more details, and directions.
