The results of an exit poll suggest that AS owed his victory to a supermajority of white males. (Women were divided more equally and black and Hispanic men apparently were more against than for him.) It would be interesting to see some figures by age. What are the odds that it was younger males voters who supported him most strongly?
He was elected by the majority of voters regardless of their gender or race, which is exactly how every governor of California is voted in.
