Is Fantasyland about to get Terminated?

by Jane S et al, post by a3m Friday, Oct. 03, 2003 at 9:15 AM
Seattle IMC

This is what I got so far but It's not good enough to convince the average Terminator fan -- a hard-working guy who probably goes to Raiders/Niners games, is definitely an action picture freak; has friends and family being massacred in Iraq because Bush lied to them, yet still thinks Bush is Patriotic AND who has the most to lose if Arnold is elected (yet will vote for him anyway).

The fifth largest economy in the world is about to be Terminated unless SOMEONE does SOMETHING!

California: Is Fantasyland about to get Terminated?

There are five people living in California now -- Mickey, Goofy, Donald, The Terminator and The Road Warrior. Ignore Mickey, Goofy and Donald. They have no say.

That leaves two trained killers. Great! Tomorrowland is about to become Waterworld... Thunder Dome.... the Matrix. And people are voting for it too! Why? Do Californians have a death wish? It looks that way.

Vengeance, corporate welfare and Payback Time is no way to run a government.

What to do? Call in Marge Simpson. Call in the Tooth Fairy. Call in Cinderella. If our lives are going to be run by cartoon characters, the least we can do is pick good guys. American Splendor. Teletubbies. Sponge Bob!!!!

Vote NO on the recall, you guys -- and stop voting for Arnie before California too gets Terminated.

Thank you for your time. And remember, the life you save may be MINE!

Best Regards, Jane S, Berkeley, CA

"Imagine a world where EVERY child is wanted, nurtured, protected and loved: World Peace in one generation!"

A cartoon from a Kucinich fan: http://www.batemania.com/animation/films/kucinichpatriotactfinal.swf

From Arianna: The people of California simply cannot afford to have Arnold Schwarzenegger as their governor.

- He has spent millions of dollars crafting and selling a
political persona that is completely contradicted by reality.

- He got into this race promising to take no special interest money, then turned around and raised millions from special interests.

- He painted himself as an outsider, then surrounded himself with Pete Wilson operatives and a Who's Who of GOP insiders.

- He went on Oprah to appeal to women, but didn't include a single woman on his team of economic advisors.

From Jan: How much taxpayers will pay in income tax for the invasion/occupation of Iraq:
Albany $6,000,000
Berkeley $40,900,000
Brisbane $1,700,000
Fresno $86,800,000
Grass Valley $2,100,000
Hayward $43,300,000
Long Beach $104,400,000
Los Angeles $834,800,000
Mendocino County $20,600,000
Mountain View $32,100,000
Nevada City $780,000
Nevada County $27,400,000
Oakland $100,300,000

From me regarding Proposition 54, the so-called privacy initiative that will not allow racial boxes to get checked: If this lame idea is to protect privacy, why didn't the people who drafted it attempt to outlaw the gender box too? Why is it so important that one's race not be known but it's okay to check out one's gender? Vote NO on Proposition 54!

Back at the Carnival We had a toilet dunk, loopy announcer and fireworks, but no cotton candy
by Marc Cooper

...But Arnold let himself get rattled by the Brentwood Populist when she accused him of bullying her as a woman. He took the bait and spewed out that one line that could haunt him in the coming days -- that he had a special role ready for Arianna in Terminator 4. After his well-publicized boasting to Entertainment Weekly how it was his idea in Terminator 3 to jam his female rival's head into a toilet, the retort will not exactly elevate Arnold's standing among women who might already have some reservations about his attitudes. (woman bashing)

...But Arnold proved himself to be at least as intelligent and as eloquent as, say, the president of the United States - which in American politics, it seems, is good enough. But mostly, I found Arnold to be a one-note act. Whether it was about health care or the budget or taxes, he had the same answer: "Protect business."

His obsessiveness with promoting a "business-friendly climate" is hardly the stuff of the sort of maverick, independent campaign he once promised. Instead, it's boilerplate country-club Republicanism rather consistent with the millions he's raked in in corporate contributions - a greedy practice he also originally vowed to eschew. (Ethics, the man keeps saying: "I am going to open the books and do a complete audit", one would think he has already done some budget reading, or he may find himself wrapped in red tape forever.)

From Joyce: As I sit here in NY and watch with horror, what's going on in CA, I wonder where the brains are? Are these people really this goofy? Can't they see that the WH is manipulating this state, in order to get a leg up in '04?

Are the polls correct, that the Terminator will head the 5th richest entity? Where are all the Barbra Streisands, and Tim Robbins and Michael Moores
and Peter Coyote and Susan Sarandons? Do they only attend the fancy $50,000 a plate dinners for DEMs? Or deign to appear on Bill Maher? Is that all they're good for?

Didn't anybody see the 2001 or 2002 photo taken with Terminator, Dick Cheney, and an executive from Enron...and wonder what was being planned here? Is Tinseltown really the accurate definition of CA?

Isn't it apparent, that the dark sides of Bush&Co are bringing that junta down, and that Arnold would really "terminate" CA in a big way, also?

Doesn't anybody care about this beautiful state staying that way?
