Electronic Sit-In against Animal Cruelty

by anarchohacker Wednesday, Oct. 01, 2003 at 3:57 AM

A site that was shut - down due to animal cruelty last year has returned. People are trying to shut it down again!! (www.bonsaikitten.com)

A site that was shut - down due to animal cruelty last year has returned. People are trying to shut it down again!! (www.bonsaikitten.com) A Japanese man in New York breeds and sells kittens that are called BONSAI CATS. That would sound cute, if it weren't kittens that were put in to little bottles after being given a muscle relaxant and then locked up for the rest of their lives!! The cats are fed through a straw and have a small tube for their faeces. The skeleton of the cat will take on the form of the bottle as the kitten grows. The cats never get the opportunity to move. They are used as original and exclusive souvenirs. These are the latest trends in New York, China, Indonesia and New Zealand. If you think you can handle it, view www.bonsaikitten.com and have a look at the methods being used to put these little kittens into bottles.

An Electronic Sit-In has been organized by Anarcho Hacktivism. The sit-in can be found here http://www.anarchohacktivism.tk along with more information including times and so on...

It's a hoax.

by Harry Flashman Friday, Oct. 03, 2003 at 3:54 PM

The bonsai kitten web page is simply a vulgar joke. When it first appeared it wound up being investigated by various law enforcement agencies who discovered that the pictures were photomanips and that no actual animals were being harmed.

See http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/bonsai.htm for more information.

No point in getting your knickers in a twist over it; it isn't for real.

Of course, criticism of the sort of taste that would think up such a joke is prefectly legitimate.

Dude that is funny as hell!

What a great idea!
