“Rell Sunn was born and lived her entire life in Hawaii, where she was a pioneer in women’s surfing, an expert free-diver, spear fisher, canoeist, and environmental activist. Rell passed away after a 14 year battle with breast cancer, but will never ever be forgotten, said Robina Suwol, California Safe Schools Coalition, Executive Director, who will be joining Patagonia and friends to honor the life of this extraordinary woman. An hour long documentary of Rell’s life entitled, “Heart of the Sea” will be screened.
