Protest Bu$h in Irvine Aug. 15th

by Sabrina A. Friday, Jul. 25, 2003 at 2:29 PM
lovablegenychic@hotmail.com

Bush is coming to his homeland of Orange County!!! Let's make this protest as big as the one in Century City!!!

Orange County  Chapter of A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) (714) 956-5037

ANSWER invites Peace/Anti-Imperialists Activists to protest the fundraising and presence of the not elected, war mongering President GW Bush in Irvine at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Irvine, CA on August 15, 2003
at 11:00 a.m.

This will be a peaceful demonstration and we ask that all participants respect local laws. Parking plans will soon be announced.

(take 405 Freeway and exit Jamboree Rd, Irvine. Go
east-about one block.)

Bring your own signs with big letters, drums, musical
instruments, bull horns and noise makers-

OCCUPATION IS NOT LIBERATION!
NO WAR FOR EMPIRE!
IMPEACH BUSH!

If you'd like to join us, call Chuck at 714 956-5037 or
Diane at 949 574-3048.

of this STOP THE WAR/STOP THE OCCUPATION protest.

Bush has carried out a war to takeover Iraq for oil profits. That war has killed thousands of innocent Iraqis. US troops now occupy Iraq in colonial style in spite of mounting anger and resistance from the Iraqi people. Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Cuba are being threatened. At home, affirmative action, civil liberties, overtime pay and immigrant rights are under assault. Joblessness is rising, and Bush is handing over
hundreds of billions of dollars to the already superrich in the form of a tax cut. On August 15, Bush will breeze into Orange County and rub elbows with a group of hand-picked politicians and local millionaires so he can rake in millions of dollars for the Republican Party. The of people in Southern California who protested the war against Iraq will be out there in the streets of Irvine to say NO to the Bush program of war, occupation,
racism, and tax giveaways to the rich! Let's join them in solidarity! We gave him a harty anti-Bush reception in Los Angeles at The Century City Plaza that he will never forget. Now, we have another chance to tell the 'Bomber of Baghdad' to stop the occupation of Iraq, Afghanistan with attacks against the Palestinians and other peoples of the Third World.

"Get a job" is precisely what approximately 3,000,000 people have been trying to do since oil slick George was selected president.

Jobs

by worker Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 at 7:00 AM

Unemployment is at 6%. That's means 94% of those who want to work are working. I'll take those numbers.

Now, can we have some goof come try and to tell us how 6% isn't a "true reflection" of how many are "really unemployed". That's fun to listen to.

And while you're at it, point out how I said the word "fun", and how it isn't a laughing matter to the unemployed, like I didn't know that already.

Economies have cycles. The jobs will return just like they have in the past. It's not the first time our country has experienced 6% unemployment or worse. It will get better again. And then one day it'll get worse. And then it'll get better again. And worse. And better. And worse. And better.

get the labor numbers

by Marco Arias Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 at 5:41 AM

Check out the News Bureau of Labor Statistics (U.S. department of labor). See these numbers for yourself

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

Paul Krugman "Twilight Zone Economics" NYT 08/15/03:
"Just to keep up with population growth, the U.S. needs to add about 110,000 jobs per month. When it falls short of that, jobs become steadily harder to find. At this point conditions in the labor market are probably the worst they have been for almost 20 years."

Me:
tell your pedulum cycle to someone who is getting kicked of thier house/apt or having to skip another meal - tell them it will all change in a year.
