Wendy McElroy says the government is a group of individuals organized for the purpose of extracting wealth and exerting power over the people and resources in a given geographic area. (Now Bush wants to do the whole world.)
Wendy McElroy says the government is founded on opinion. A nation must have learned to respect a king, before a king can exercise any authority over them.
The State uses the media to create legitimacy. They use fear to control us. They steal our money through forced taxation. They are parasites. The post office is a forced monopoly. Government has created a mystique of legitimacy about its activities.
Check out Alex Jones (www.infowars.net) for more on government abuses. Or study Hitler's Germany. Same thing is going on here now. But media and schools (run by the State) won't let you see this.
