Thank You to Diogenes

by mymicz Thursday, Jul. 10, 2003 at 4:29 PM

Keep the light on Brother

There's lot's of stupid people lurking around corners being dishonest. Coming to this website to waste our time. Luckily, Indeymedia has our own Diogenes, a free thinker, and someone who's articles don't often bore. Thank You Diogenes, keep looking for that honest man. I'd step up, but I'm a woman.

No matter what my nick may be (at the time) he's the big dog here alright.

Now we have to convince him about investments in social services

shared by everyone equally. Oops, that slipped out.

Stand back I'll clean that up now.

It's disgusting and unsanitary.

You're all dishonest. I've been more honest than any of you. And all I get for my honesty is being called a paid shill. Explain that. No one ever thanks me for my honesty either. Sad really. You can go on the internet, and under the veil of cyber-anonymity, spew lies about people and incite hatred against authority figures, and get thanked for it.

Pathetic really.

Pullback of U.S. forces from S. Korea urged

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- The Asian Regional Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association and the Indian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification in a joint statement on June 24 demanded the withdrawal of the U.S. military bases and forces from South Korea on the occasion of the Month of Anti-U.S. Joint Struggle (June 25-July 27). The statement said that June 25, 1950 was the day the United States unleashed a despicable war of aggression against the Korean people and July 27, 1953 was the day the Korean people won a victory in the war by defeating the U.S. imperialists.

Referring to the proposals for the independent and peaceful reunification of the country advanced by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the struggle of the Korean people for materializing them, the statement said: We express great concern about the U.S. moves to ignite an all-out war against the DPRK, a peace-loving socialist country, by using modern weapons of mass destruction in disregard of the world opinion and violation of international law.

Once a war breaks out on the Korean peninsula, it will be a nuclear war which will not be confined to the peninsula but will spill over into other regions to bring a horrible nuclear holocaust to humankind and the u.s. will not escape responsibility for this.

The continued presence in South Korea of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces equipped with modern weapons poses a constant threat to the Korean peninsula and lays a main obstacle to the peaceful reunification of Korea.

We extend firm solidarity to the Korean people in their just struggle to improve the inter-Korean ties and achieve the peaceful reunification of the country.

Friendship gathering held

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- A friendship gathering with Canadians staying in the DPRK took place at the Pyongyang Embroidery Institute on July 1 on the occasion of the Day of Canada. Present there were officials concerned, members of the Korea-Canada Friendship Association and employees of the institute. Being briefed on the fact that the institute has developed the Korean embroidery, preserving the Juche character and national character, the participants looked round embroidery rooms and talked with each other, deepening the feelings of friendship.

Nigerian President refers to Korea's nuclear issue

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Nigeria fully supports the DPRK's stand on its nuclear issue. It should be settled in a peaceful way through dialogue between the DPRK and the U.S. Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo said this on June 26 after receiving credentials from Kim Pyong Gi, newly appointed DPRK Ambassador to that country.

Referring to the positive and significant changes that have taken place in the inter-Korean relations since the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, the president expressed belief that they would lead to the reunification of korea.

He hoped that the bilateral relations would grow stronger in the days ahead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rally for peace and disarmament held in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- The 27th Rally for Peace and Disarmament was reportedly held in front of the building of the South Korean Ministry of defense in Seoul on June 26 with different organizations attending. At the rally the chief for policy making of the citizen's solidarity for democratic society said that "independent national defense" touted by the present authorities and the ministry is aimed to go under the U.S. system of offensive armed forces.

A representative of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils said that it would give momentum to the anti-U.S. sentiment on the occasion of July 27 and carry on the struggle till August 15.

At the end of the rally its participants put up pennants reading "no preemptive attack on the north" on the walls of the ministry building and thrust a letter of protest to the defence minister.

KCNA urges U.S. to stop talking about human rights issues

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- U.S. President Bush in a "statement" on June 26 accused several countries including the DPRK of "human rights abuses." He made this unprecedented groundless mud-slinging at the DPRK after the U.S. State Department spread a sheer lie about human rights abuses in the DPRK through its "2002-2003 Report on Human Rights and Democracy" on June 24. This indicates that the Bush administration's psychological operation to isolate and stifle the DPRK has reached its zenith.

This is part of various plots hatched by the U.S. to tarnish the dignified image of the political system in the DPRK and escalate the international pressure upon it. This is a serious interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.

Article 67 and 68 of the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK stipulate that citizens are guaranteed freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of demonstration and of religion and all the popular masses are provided with independent rights, vital rights, rights of equality and development.

There is no human rights issue in our system as the leader, the party and the masses are single-heartedly united and the whole country forms a harmonious whole.

The U.S. is to blame for human rights abuses before any others.

The U.S. is not qualified to talk about this issue.

It is none other than the U.S. which killed so many innocent civilians and reduced cities and villages to debris in Afghanistan and Iraq, bringing the worst disasters to their people after provoking wars of aggression there under the signboard of "anti-terrorism" in a bid to meet its aims and interests.

The U.S. is ridden with the worst racial discrimination and the most horrible crimes due to social conflict and class confrontation.

According to official information released by the U.S. judicial authority, 265 people are being shot and 87 of them are left dead on a daily average and more than 1.3 million cases of such crimes of violence as rape, robbery and plunder are reported every year.

Indiscriminate attacks are being made on members of other sects for the mere reason that they challenge the U.S. view on value.

It is by no means fortuitous that amnesty international in an annual report issued last year on its 40th anniversary listed the U.S. as a stumbling block in the human rights performance in the world.

The U.S. will not be able to escape international isolation and self-destruction if it keeps resorting to arbitrary and high-handed practices, hatching plots and seeking hegemony, while wantonly infringing upon the sovereignty of other countries under the hypocritical motto "protection of human rights."

Performance given by KPA Song and Dance Ensemble

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- The Korean People's Army Song and Dance Ensemble gave a performance at Jonsung Square yesterday to celebrate the nomination of supreme commander of the KPA Kim Jong Il as a candidate for the 11th Supreme People's Assembly at the electorate meeting of constituency no. 649. Performers sang with deep emotion of the boundless trust and reverence of the Korean army and people for Kim Jong Il through bass solo "The General is Son of Guerrillas", female folk song solo and male Pangchang "Let Us Boast of the Greatest-Ever Commander," female folk song duet and Kayagum ensemble "Arirang for Prosperity" and other numbers.

The performance was followed by a dancing party of servicepersons.

Appreciating the performance were chief of the KPA general staff Kim Yong Chun, Minister of the People's Armed Forces Kim Il Chol and senior officers of the ministry.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Results of investigation" in S. Korea refuted

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee in a statement on July 1 dismissed the "final results of investigation into the issue of remittance to the north" recently carried out in South Korea as a sheer lie. The committee, as a partner of Hyundai, categorically refutes the "results" and expresses deep regret at the investigation, the statement said. The "results of investigation" evoke the nation's concern and denunciation as it is an anti-reunification act that goes against the history, downplays the significance of the historic Pyongyang meeting in the nation's history and torpedoes the good process of reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south, the statement said, and continued:

No one can downplay the significance of the historic Pyongyang meeting and the June 15 Joint Declaration in the nation's history and their great vitality no matter what others may say.

An astronomical amount of dollars has been spent for the U.S. imperialist forces' presence in South Korea and their overseas aggression and billions of dollars were used to pursue the so-called "northern policy." yet, those involved in the investigation kept mum about this but are going to bring those related to the inter-Korean cooperation to a "court" and take a legal action against them for spending a small amount of money for it. This can not but be shame and tragedy for the nation, before talking about the backward and treacherous nature of South Korean politics.

All those involved in the Pyongyang meeting should be acquitted and set free as they performed feats before the history and the nation and the unreasonable "suit" brought against them should be withdrawn immediately.

If the south side finally tries those related to the Pyongyang meeting and punishes them, going against the nation's desire and trend of the times for reunification, it will be held entirely responsible for the serious impact the action will have on the north-south relations.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Women's soccer team feasted

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- The DPRK cabinet gave a reception on July 1 in honor of the Korean girls who came first at the 14th Asian Women's Football Championships. Vice-Premier of the cabinet Kwak Pom Gi, said it was the demonstration of the heroic spirit of the Korean people to the world and the pride of the nation that they came first at the 13th Asian Women's Football Championships and women's soccer match of the 13th Asian Games and retained the title of the 14th Asian Women's Football championships.

He said that all the players should train hard, keeping in mind the expectation and love of the party and the leader, the fatherland and the people to demonstrate the spirit of Juche Korea again in future games.

Chief coach Ri Song Gun in his reply address expressed his determination to further exalt the honor of the country in international sports games in a bid to repay with loyalty the warm love of leader Kim Jong Il who keeps their life in full bloom.

Present at the reception were Pak Myong Chol, chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, Ri Kwang Gun, Minister of Foreign Trade who is chairman of the DPRK Football Association, and officials concerned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

U.S. anti-DPRK campaign denounced

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- U.S. State Department spokesman Richard Boucher in a news briefing a few days ago made public some "information" related to the DPRK's export of missiles, noting that other countries should refrain from military cooperation with North Korea. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today runs a signed commentary. The U.S. assertion that the DPRK's export of missiles is illegal and threatens other countries and thus they should break off trade and military cooperation with the DPRK is a frantic violation of the principle of respect for the sovereignty of independent states and non-interference in others' internal affairs, the commentary says, and goes on:

The U.S. had exported weapons worth nearly 50 billion dollars from 1997 to 2001. The U.S. tops the list of weapon export states, gaining huge profits.

It is none other than the U.S. that has committed illegal acts in exporting weapons and threatened other countries.

The U.S. sinister anti-DPRK campaign aims to internationalize "threats" from the DPRK to lay a "collective siege" to the DPRK. The U.S. moves to form a "collective siege network" against the DPRK are, in essence, the revelation of its dangerous attempt to bring the DPRK under its control by the allied imperialist forces and international reactionaries.

The DPRK's development, deployment and export of missiles is a matter belonging to the sovereign right of the Korean people. If the DPRK does not have such a powerful war deterrent force as missiles, it may be attacked by the U.S. any time. The U.S. racket about the development, deployment and export of missiles in the DPRK can never go down with the Korean people.

The determination of the Korean people to strengthen the self-defensive military power in every way under the Songun banner will never be shaken whatever others may say.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DPRK side responds to U.S.-proposed talks on GI remains

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Panmunjom mission of the Korean People's Army gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA today as regards the talks on excavating remains of U.S. soldiers proposed again by the United States. Recently the U.S. proposed to resume the talks several times.

In the past the DPRK side excavated remains of many American soldiers and handed them over to the U.S. side with all sincerity from a noble humanitarian stand.

But the U.S. administration has pursued an extremely hostile policy toward the DPRK. as a result, the anti-U.S. sentiment of the army and the people of the DPRK and their vigilance against it have reached their height and the DPRK-U.S. relations are at the lowest ebb due to the nuclear issue, in particular.

Such situation makes it difficult for the DPRK side to make any smooth progress in the excavation of their remains as the same is the case with all other issues between the two countries.

But the DPRK side decided to respond to the U.S. side-proposed talks, taking into full consideration that this issue is a purely humanitarian one.

The U.S. side should set forth appropriate and realistic ways of overcoming the obstacles to settling the issue of excavating GI remains at the talks.

Kim Yong Nam greets President of Belarus

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on July 1 sent a message of greetings to Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, on the occasion of its National Day, the national holiday of its people.

In the belief that the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries would grow stronger in the future, the message wished the president greater success in his responsible work.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings to Belorussian Prime Minister

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Premier of the DPRK cabinet Hong Song Nam sent a message of greetings to Belorussian Prime Minister Gennady Novitsky on the occasion of its National Day. Expressing belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would steadily develop in the desire and fundamental interests of the two peoples, the message wished him success in his work.

Meanwhile, DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a message of greetings to his Belorussian counterpart Sergei Martinov on this occasion.

Damn straight! Spam is all they have. It's all they'll ever have. We are the ones with the superior minds and know-how. With this unquestionable advantage in reasoning we have been able to easily show people the advantages of seeing things as we see them. That's why everytime there's an election and everytime an issue is brought up before the people, the candidate we choose and the stance we take are immediately drafted by the people as their candidate and their stance. That's just how smart we are. But we must stay in front. The time to act is NOW!! Let's sit around and talk about it.
