JOIN IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF IRAN!

PROTEST
WHERE: Westwood Federal Building
WHEN: Sunday July 6
TIME: All afternoon

For the past few weeks Iranian students and people
from all over Iran have been standing up against the
Oppressive Islamic Republic of Iran and demanding
democracy and freedom!
In a country where protesting is not allowed, this is
one of the bravest acts and struggle for freedom.
Iran's prosecutor general, Abdolnabi Namazi finally
admitted after lying about it that over 4,000 people
have been arrested during just ONE MONTH of violent
anti-regime, pro-democracy protests.

On SUNDAY JULY 6, 2003 you can join with thousands of
other Iranians both in Iran and in exile along with
activists all over the world in protest the fourth
anniversary of a July 9, 1999 attacks on Tehran
University dormitories by pro-clerical militants.
Those attacks killed one student, injured at least 20
others and triggered six days of nationwide
anti-government protests.

SUNDAY JULY 6, 2003 is also the International day of
solidarity and support for all students and people of
Iran who are CURRENTLY waging to break free from the
oppressive government that has been holding them down
since 1979.. The People of Iran are tired, and waking
up. So many are being taken in and killed due to
speaking out, yet the protestors vow to continue. Yet
Authorities have banned any marches to commemorate the
raid. And say "An incident took place a few years back
and there is no necessity to mark the anniversary,"
Students have vowed to defy the ban and warned that
their accumulated wrath was about to explode and say
"We are here to protest the very inappropriate arrests
of students, with guns pointed at our throats by
unidentified agents, including some students who were
not part of recent protests,"
Student organizations in Iran have asked that people
all over the world join with them on July 6 and show
solidarity in their struggle. Even if you don¡¦t live
in Iran you can hold a vigil or protest where you live
with your friends.

If you live in Los Angeles, a large protest will be
held at

WHERE: Westwood Federal Building
WHEN: Sunday July 6
TIME: All afternoon
WHY: see above ļ

This even if being put on by various Iranian support
groups from all over CA, they do not represent any one
ideology and ALL are welcome

ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE
FOR A FREE IRAN
FOR A JUST IRAN
